Peace on Earth/Silent Night (Song)

"Peace on Earth" is a Christmas carol.

In 1955, "Peace on Earth" was used in Walt Disney's "Lady and the Tramp". It was recorded by the Disney Studio Chorus. It can be heard during the opening sequence leading up to the Christmas scene, when Darling receives Lady as a present from Jim Dear.

Dean Martin recorded a "Peace on Earth/Silent Night" Medley. It was originally on "Frank Sinatra and His Friends Want You to Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" Reprise RS-50001 released in 1963. It can now be found on "Christmas with the Rat Pack" which was released in 2002. It is track #14.

These lyrics begin "Silent as a snowflake in the night/Holy is the spirit of this night..."

These are not the same lyrics as the "Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy" Medley performed in 1977 by David Bowie and Bing Crosby. The Bowie/Crosby lyrics start out "Peace on Earth/Can it Be/Years from now/Perhaps we'll see...."
