Paul Kurti
Paul Kurti is a film-maker from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Kurti was the winner of the Season 1 YOBI Film contest in 2009.
History
Kurti moved to Canada from Albania when he was 18. He comes from a creative family of actors and intellectuals. He enjoyed writing and drawing at a younger age but after university he found his passion for film-making. His films explore the human mind, individuality, and the passage of time. His work has also been screened at the WILDsound Film Festival.
YOBI.tv
Kurti won the YOBI Film contest from YOBI.tv's first season for his entry "Restless Wanderer". He won $12,500 USD, all-access passes to the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, and VIP admittance for two into a major indie film's after party event.
Winning Entry
"Restless Wanderer" is AbOUT a young woman visiting New York City. Finding herself amidst the chaos of Times Square, she tries to pause the city and the people. The story is about human interactions and how even in extreme situations, people can still find connections.
