Paru Gambhir
Paru Gambhir is an Indian actress.
Career
Paru Gambhir completed the Acting course at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, from the 2005 batch. In an interview she said that she had moved to acting after working in the IT industry after graduating as an engineer.
In 7 Days in Slow Motion (2009), a film about three school children who try to make a film in seven days, Gambhir played the 17-year old cousin of one of the boys, as a character who is being forced into an arranged marriage.
In the student film Still Voices (2010), about the CBI investigation into the death of a suspected naxalite, she played the role of a reporter who is the former girlfriend of the victim. She was nominated in the Best Student Film Actress category, and the film got an Honorable Mention in the Best Student Film category at the 2010 Los Angeles Reel Film Festival.
In Saari Raat ("All Night Long"), a 2013 short film about a conversation between a married couple on the second night of their wedding, Gambhir played the bride. The film was shortlisted in the Best Short Film category at the 13th Annual New York Indian Film Festival.
In an interview, she said that she switched careers from acting to makeup and hair-styling, and owns an art studio.
