Panic (band)

Bands called Panic include:

  • The band that Dave Mustaine was in before he formed Megadeth. The band was created in 1981. It was all chance because all the members were at a place called Slymickers watching another metal band named Metal Might. Lead singer of Panic Charles Gooduson was talking with Dave Mustaine about if he was in a band or not and if he wanted to form one. They had a few drinks and Charles introduced Dave to his good friend Michael Vanhortton. From then the band Panic was formed. The band came to an end when several members died in a car accident (Mustaine was not involved in it).
No recordings of this band exist outside of bootlegs, although Dave Mustaine wrote a drum beat while he was in this band that was later used in the song Rust in peace... Polaris.
  • A band formed in Boston in 2000, featuring members of bands such as the Trouble, In My Eyes, American Nightmare, and the Explosion. They released two EPs for Bridge 9 Records. They had a period of inactivity for a couple of years, until resurfacing in early 2006 to play a few shows on the east coast. They soon embarked on a European tour promoting their new EP, "Circles," released on Reflection Records in spring of 2006. Both Bridge 9 EPs are collected on the "Strength in Solitude" discography. Members included: Jesse Van Diest and Azy Relph (formerly of American Nightmare), Damian Genuardi (the explosion/in my eyes), Scott Peacock and Chris Gibson Miller (TheTrouble)
  • Prior to the Grunge Explosion in Seattle another band used the name and was managed by Tony Isabella of Bill Graham Management. Members included George Hernandez (Bass), Jack Coy (Drums), Martin Chandler (Guitar)- later of "Hog Molly" and "The Ones", and Jeff Brameis (Vocals).
  • From Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, enjoyed moderate success as a theatrical, hard driving rock band touring the southeastern US in the early '80's. Members included "Crazy" Wayne Bowman (Guitar), Rob Ramiez (Bass), and Robert Voegeli (Vocals). Voegeli later fronted the London-based mid-'80's R&B band, The Goldhawks, and the Berlin-based jazz/funk outfit, Musiker Krumme.
  • A NJ ska band, that later changed its name to Bigger Thomas.
  • A L.A. hardcore punk band that later changed its name to Black Flag.
  • A Nottingham, England pop punk band who released three albums and several EPs between 1994 and 2004 and whose guitarist/frontman Jamie Delerict now performs with Teenage Casket Company and The Dangerfields.
