Openpine

Openpine is an Operating System that require a low system requirement. Introduced in July 1999. Comes with 2FZ-DOS as its default DOS system, but later in December 2004, it is changed to MS-DOS 7.1 since it is now free to download from their website.

The development has been started in July 1999 with a very limited shell by Ibnu Qayyim Noor Saleem. Actually, it is called "SkyFire OS" and his its own DOS called 2FZ DOS but very limited. But has been codenamed "OpenPine" because it is fully using its own core system, but same in its graphical shell.

The development is quite ACTIVE for a long while. A Remastering has been started on December 2004. However, 2FZ-DOS remastering project is failure and the Host OS has been changed to MS-DOS 7. After that, this project is halted due to a lack of support.

In September 2006, Alexender Eugiene from German is taken over this development. Improvement has been made in the sound driver and the display driver. Alexender Eugiene even put the compatibility of inserting the USB DRIVE but no doubt, his project is FAILURE. As in March 2007, this development is halted once more and abandoned for a long time. However, in 2008, Fariz Luqman has taken over again this development. Nothing improved but just changing the theme. Then, after a long time Openpine os and SkyFire OS is maintained by him, the project is halted and will not be continued as in February 2010.
