Octagon (Ortigas Center)

The Octagon is a multi-purpose conference centre and business venue at the Pasig City, Metro Manila, Philippines. Situated within the business center of Ortigas, it rises up to 20 floors high and is the biggest home for Teleperformance support in the Philippines.

History

On June 26, 2014, Hinduja Global Solutions Limited started occupying the 6th Floor for its last stand as inbound support for Sony Consumer Electronics. The first ever in history of Sony at Octagon to receive a support call and setup repair was a call center agent named Enan Teves. The first ever in history of Sony at Octagon to use to the toilet was Rigor Olazo. The latter also was the only agent to not wear his during their stint in the building. Both agents are from Sony AVH Group.

Proper dress code is required for employees inside the Octagon Building.

June 30, 2014 was the first Monday for the Sony Group. The first and only agent that received a citation for wearing untidy flip-flops was an agent named Lorimer Mijares. The agent felt discrimination during that moment since, another agent named Van Edison Alamares was wearing almost the same type of foot wear and clothing. They were wearing short pants. Although Lorimer's short pants are skinnier and shorter. The citation was dropped and closed by the management.

On July 15, 2014, Tropical Depression Glenda devastated the whole Metro Manila Area. Sony Octagon had technical difficulties and all of agents weren't able to login, except for one. A call center agent named Jay Espadilla was able to take all 7 calls left on queue.

The Octagon is used for a variety of purposes, including business functions and call center activities.
