Yutaka Ikejima filmed Obscene Stalker: It Holds in Darkness! for his own Cement Match production company, and it was released theatrically in Japan by Shintōhō on March 29, 2002. Max-A's release of Obscene Stalker: It Holds in Darkness! to home video in VHS format on its Gash label, on February 18, 2003 shows the film's English title. Shintōhō gave the film a second theatrical release on August 9, 2005 under the title .
