North Woods Eatery
North Woods Eatery is a home-cooked style restaurant in Berlin, New Hampshire, located near the Androscoggin River.
North Woods Eatery was opened in 2011 by George and Jane Gilman. The Gilmans have lived in Coos County since they were both children, and their fathers worked together in the paper mill. After both George and Jane had finished their long careers, they decided to open their restaurant near the river in Berlin. The Gilmans have handed down the restaurant to their son, Abe Gilman, current owner of North Woods Eatery. George and Jane still come for dinner several nights a week.
North Woods Eatery features homemade biscuits, rotisserie chicken, fresh mashed potatoes and classic home-style meals from their kitchen. They bake homemade apple, pumpkin, and pecan pies for the holiday season. The dining room includes family style tables, booths, and high top tables. Along the walls of the restaurant, photographs taken of the paper mill and of the Presidential Range can be found. The local snowmobile trails lead directly to the restaurant, where riders can take a break for lunch.
