Noreen Renier

Noreen Renier is an American author of A Mind for [...] and self-proclaimed psychic who has made dozens of national television appearances, such as NBC, ABC, and CNN. She has appeared on Court TV news programs12, and eleven appearances on its show Psychic Detectives. She has been involved in other notable cases as well.34

In 1986 Noreen Renier won a libel lawsuit against in Jackson County courtroom when six jury members found in favor of her testimony against critic John Merrell. However much of the testimony in the case has recently been challenged as lacking credibility and witnesses in 2006 came forward who publicly disputed various testimony events relating to a plane crash where Renier claimed she was "instrumental" in locating.

In 2005, Renier's biography co-authored by Naomi Lucks titled 'A Mind for [...]' was published and in late 2005 Merrell sued Renier in a Washington federal court for breaching a 1992 Florida State settlement agreement. That federal court in 2006 and 2007 issued judgments against Noreen Renier though in August 2007 Renier filed her second Chapter 7 bankruptcy listing Merrell as her principal creditor with unpaid debts to Merrell then near $40,000 and now (with interest and further filings) near $58,000. Following her bankruptcy filing Merrell sought and was awarded assets from the 2008 revised EDition of Renier's book 'A Mind For [...]' after all references to him had first been deleted. Merrell is now the sole creditor collecting from Renier and the Bankruptcy Court is holding at his request all assets collected until the spring of 2009 when they will be transferred to him and a decision will be reached as to the ownership of the book. Merrell created a website with documents and the lawsuit judgements on the ligitation. That web site is the same as the title of the book.
