Nick Dompierre

Nick Dompierre (born July 29, 1986) is a goofy-stanced professional skateboarder for Real Skateboards. He is known for his performance of backside noseblunt slides and 360 flips.

Biography

In 2004, 17-year-old Dompierre accepted a sponsorship offer from Real Skateboards. He had his first full-length video part in Real's Roll Forever the next year and he began showing well in skateboarding competitions in 2006.

Dompierre came in first in the amateur class at the 2006 Vans Downtown Showdown in Los Angeles and placed in its best trick contest, as well as the street and best trick contests at Volcom's [...] Am in Amsterdam.

During the summer of 2006, he was on the cover of the July issue of Thrasher and the August issue of Slap.

He became a professional skateboarder in January 2007. Later that year, Dompierre entered the Tampa Pro and finished 4th.

His sponsorships include Real, Spitfire, Thunder, Solstice Skateshop, No Problemo, DC shoes and apparel, Roughneck Hardware, and Red Bull.

Nick was on the cover of the June 2009 Transworld SKATEboarding magazine doing one of the heaviest backside noseblunt slides ever shot. The photo and interview in the magazine coordinated with DC Shoes announcement of Nick as a new pro on their footwear and apparel team.

The photo has been compared to the infamous shot of Eric Koston's backside noseblunt at Hubba Hideout. Both photos were shot by Mike Blabac who worked for Girl and has been the staff photographer at DC for ten years. Both photos appear in Mike's forthcoming book "Blabac Photo: The Art of Skateboarding Photography" (powerHouse Books July 2009).

Nick Dompierre also drag races a blue 1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z. He is currently living in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
