News Watch (news package)

'''News Watch''' is a [[television news music]] package composed by [[Frank Gari]] of Gari Communications. Commissioned in 1993 by [[NBC]] affiliate [[KGW-TV]] in [[Portland, Oregon|Portland]], [[Oregon]], this package premiered on its news magazine, ''Good Evening''. When the station changed its branding to ''Northwest NewsChannel 8'' (now ''KGW NewsChannel 8'') in 1994, the package was updated with new themes. It was originally known as the ''KGW News Package'' before changing to its current name shortly after. ''News Watch'' contains 69 cuts of news opens, bumpers, closes, stingers, primary themes, ID's, and utility tracks. ''News Watch'' is also the name of another news music package by Non-Stop Music.
