NetGamers
NetGamers is an IRC network with servers across Europe and North America. It has an average of about 2000 1 concurrent users, which rises depending on the popularity of its partner games. NetGamers primarily exists as a place for online gaming communities (mainly for web browser games) to interact. Amongst the many gaming communities that use the network, it is primarily used by its Partners games, which have specific rights on the network and use it as The Primary IRC network for their community.
History
NetGamers was originally the Planetarion IRC Gaming Network, which catered solely to Planetarion, but in July 2002 the core servers of the network reformed into NetGamers and has since allowed other games to use the network. 23 This was primarily due to the falling popularity of Planetarion, which suffered a large loss of users at that time. 4
