Neil Janowitz
Neil Janowitz (born 1981) is an American journalist. Currently, he is an associate editor for ESPN the Magazine. Janowitz has previously written for FHM Online and CollegeHumor.
Education
Janowitz received a bachelor's degree with a double major in writing and psychology from the University of Rochester in 2004. He was an editor for the Campus Times, the campus's weekly newspaper, and brother of the Sigma Chi fraternity.
The Milwaukee Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers invited Janowitz to spring training as a non-roster invitee in 2007. As part of an assignment for ESPN the Magazine, Janowitz arrived in camp on February 26 and participated in major league drills and exercises.
Janowitz, listed as a free agent, was assigned #99 and a locker in the major league clubhouse. In an intrasquad game, he played left field, batted third in the order, and in his only at-bat faced Derrick Turnbow. He was cut from the team on March 1 and invited to participate in the Miller Park sausage race at some point later in the season.
Tetris
In February of 2007, Janowitz presented at The New York chapter of Nerd Nite, 1 on the history, strategy and future of the hit game Tetris.
