NCM (sorority)
Non Compis Mentis is a local sorority at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.

History
NCM was founded in the 1970's by the remaining women of the sorority Pi Beta Phi. It is the only local sorority at Rollins College and is the oldest local sorority in the Southeast.
"Non compis mentis" is Latin for "not of sound mind." The name is commonly shortened to NCM. (Non compis mentis is also a legal term) The story of the name states that the founders of NCM were informed that they were crazy for starting their own sorority.
Housing
Mayflower Hall, one of the dorm buildings used for Greek organizations on campus, is situated on Holt Avenue. It is next to Cross Hall and Pugsley Hall, and in front of the International House.
There are 19 rooms with the possibility of 21 residents, most of whom are sisters of NCM. It is a female-only dorm. Because NCM has no national rules for conduct, males are allowed throughout the house and inside the rooms of the residents. And members of legal age are allowed to possess and consume alcohol in their rooms.
Activities
Parties
Wine Tasting is a biannual wine tasting in their chapter room, one during Fall semester and one during Spring semester. This event is semi-formal and invitation-only. Sisters and guests who are twenty-one and over sample various types of wine over a course of a few hours, while socializing.
Masquerade is a costume party thrown at a local night club in support of breast cancer research, around Halloween.
Red Light Green Light is a party, at the night club, wherein the girls wear red (if in a relationship), green (if single), and yellow (if complicated).
Pinked Out was a party that thrown at Spatz, last done in the 2004-2005 school year.
Formals
Spring Formal: On a Saturday during Spring semester the sisters and their dates enjoy the day at the beach before retiring to their hotel to change into their near-formal clothing and have dinner. They spend the night at the hotel and GeneRally spend the next day also at the beach.
Winter Formal is semi-formal event where the sisters get together for dinner and music on Park Avenue.
Recruitment
Informal Rush: NCM has informal rush both in Fall (for sophomores and up) and Spring (open to all) semesters.
Formal Rush: Rollins College has Sorority Recruitment as a week early in The Spring semester. It is a highly regulated event that is overseen by the Panhellenic ASSOCIATION Council. Over the week the potential pledges take tours and attend events at each of the sororities on campus, narrowing down their choices until the final day, Rush Day, where the girls who are given bids and accept them run to their new sorority house and spend the rest of the evening inside, being serenaded by the pledges of the fraternities on campus.
Philanthropy
NCM takes part in Relay for Life and other breast cancer foundations, while also raising money and holding events for various other charity organizations. These other organizations include: the Beta-Center Orlando, various pet rescue programs, the Ronald McDonald Fund, and many others.
The philanthropies are subject to change, especially if another organization's goals hold special meaning to at least one of the sisters.
