Notes and information
- Teams have reached 100 wins in a decade 8 times. This has happened twice in the 1970s, twice in the 1980s, and four times in the 1990s. One of the reasons for more in later decades, is because the college football season has expanded, to allow more games to be played.
- Oklahoma became the first team to reach 100 victories in a decade.
- Nebraska became the first team to reach 100 victories in back-to-back decades, when they did so in the 1980s and 1990s.
- Florida State set the NCAA record for winning percentage in a decade at .890 in the 1990s.
- Marshall set the NCAA record for victories in a decade with 114, but that was because they had longer seasons.
- Michigan holds the NCAA record for most victories all time
- Notre Dame has the most victories since 1900
- Oklahoma has the most victories since WW2
- Nebraska has the most victories since 1970
- Oklahoma has the most victories since 2000
