Natalie's Box

Natalie's Box are a four-piece Britrock band from Bexhill who play a mix of Britpop with elements from Hip-Hop and rock. Their debut download E.P was released in June 2008; ,produced by Nick Kinnish of Serafina studios. The release comes ahead of several dates around the UK which will also see the band take in a number of festivals.

Background

Starting out in 2005 as a ska punk outfit, Natalie's Box have progressed quickly over the past two years, undergoing several lineup changes due to lifestyle clashes limiting the time in which the band could play and write together. The current lineup came to know each other through attending college together, Kai (vocals) and Harry (drums), who was originally the band's bassist, spent two years at Sussex Downs College with future guitarist Charlie and bassist Rob, both of whom joined shortly after the conclusion of the National Award in Music Technology and Performance following the departures of James McKay (guitar) and Daniel Bransby (bass). All four members graduated from the course.

The band's influences are varied: they cite Hip-Hop artists such as OutKast as well as older ska/punk outfits such as The Specials, Madness and The Clash as major sources of inspiration. They work to mix elements from as many influences as possible to create a range of music they describe as a 'Quality Street Box' of sound. The band enjoyed an extensive period of frequent gigging throughout 2007, providing support to the likes of Polytechnic, New Young Pony Club and Bad Manners, playing well received set's for various Barfly audiences, culminating in an acclaimed performance at the Astoria 2 to cap the year. 2008 has so far seen them take to the stage in support of Jack Penate, Zane Lowe, The Metros and Adam Ficek of Babyshambles.

The band initially released one track through Napster, Itunes, Rhapsody and eMusic, 'This Could Be It' which formed part of a 'go global' compilation created to help generate funds for various projects supporting young musicians in the southeast. The band have since re-recorded 'This Could Be It' and have stated they are willing to provide a free MP3 of the new recording to anyone who purchases the original release and provides proof of purchase to the band's contact email address; nataliesbox@hotmail.co.uk

on June 9th 2008 the band released their first self titled E.P on all major download services, this includes debut download single Overdraft.
