Narayanan Ramachandran
Narayanan Ramchandran,the well known International contemporary artist from India was born in 1933 in Kerala,India.He lives and works in Chenna, South India.
He experimented with different styles of painting and created a new visual identity and abstraction technique
called “Third Eye Series” which attracted the attention of art lovers and critics from across the world.
“Third Eye Series” where several images are super imposed in the same painting gives many variations to
the subject matter and is a unique style , lending mysticism, originality and vibrations to his art work . Third Eye Series present in a unique abstract style, different views of the same object,and has philosophical and subconscious overtones linked with surrealism, which attracts and holds the close attention of the viewers, and presenting them a challenge to unravel the hidden mystery and beauty of the painting.
At ART expo New York 2008, Ramachandran exhibited the original painting INTIMACY ,
one of the famous “THIRD EYE SERIES” paintings for the first time in USA.
He has taken part in several Indian and International exhibitions and achieved high critical acclaim at home and internationally. He had 12 Solo exhibitions in India and abroad. Currently 25 galleries in USA UK, and Europe are showing his works.
He was invited to exhibit his paintings at the juried exhibition, Florence Biennale Internazionale dell Arte
Contemporanea, ITALY, held on Dec. 2005.
He was given the prestigious National Award of Vishisht Seva Medal by President of India , for his outstanding work.
