Naak

NAAK is a Canadian company that manufactures energy bars using crickets. Their product is a protein energy bar created from crickets with the goal of being a good source of nutrition before, during or after physical exertion.

Company history

Based in Montreal, Naak was founded by Antoine Domergue, Minh Pham and William Walcker in 2016. The company develops and markets food products made from crickets and natural ingredients for athletes.

To make its bars, the Naak team collaborated with sports nutritionists and Louis-Philippe Breton, head of the Pastaga restaurant in Montreal, where they began artisan production. To fund the first large-scale production of the bars, the founders launched a socio-financing campaign at the Naak site that raised $12,000, exceeding the initial target of $5,000.

Naak energy bars are sold on its website and in several stores in Quebec, mainly in Montreal.
