Mutt - Lon

Mutt-Lon is a Cameroonian and prominent voice in modern Cameroon literature. Writing under a pseudonym, he has gained international recognition for his novels that combine historical reflection, social critique and imaginative storytelling. His works have been translated into multiple languages, making him one of the few Cameroonian authors with a global leadership

Biography

Mutt-Lon was born on the 21st of November 1973. His birth name is Nsegbe Daniel Alain and his Pseudonym is Mutt-Lon and lives in Douala-Cameroon.

Career highlights

  • His debut novel, Ceux qui sortent dans la nuit (2013), won the Ahmadou Kourouma prize in 2014. - In 2015, he published La procession des charognards, further establishing his reputation in francophone Africa.
  • His third novel, Les 700 aveugles de Bafia (2020), was published in West Africa and France, later translated into English as The Blunder (Amazon crossing, 2022) and into Arabic in Egypt.
