Mutiny Media is a film production business based in Melbourne, Australia producing documentary films for television, cinema and online spaces.
The producers and directors work with a broad range of organisations and individuals in realising projects.
Mutiny Media began in 2002 making arts documentaries for international festivals and television.
RASH the documentary film completed in 2005 is a contemporary story of modern urban Australia and the artists who are making it a living host for illegal artwork called street art. RASH the documentary film explores the cultural value of unsanctioned public art and the ways that street art and graffiti contribute to public dialogue. RASH was completed in the lead up to Melbourne's 2006 Commonwealth Games. RASH premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival where it received the runner up favourite documentary audience award. In 2005 RASH was awarded Best Feature Documentary by the Film Critics Circle of Australia.
Mutiny Media has extensive experience researching and producing for documentary in the South Asia-Pacific region.
In 2006 director Nicholas Hansen Co Produced and filmed One Cup a half hour documentary AbOUT East Timorese coffee farmers. Filmed in the mountains of Timor-Leste in January 2006, One Cup offers insight into the struggles of coffee farming in the poorest country in Asia. Among the everyday difficulties described by coffee producer communities, health concerns are paramount.
