Music Federation of Tanzania

The Music Federation of Tanzania is a non-government Organization based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania that exists to "supervising and promote live music in Tanzania". Established in 2008 by Music industry Associations, the organization has included 8 music associations as members of the Organization.

Goals

The goals of the Music Federation of Tanzania are:

  1. Hold regular meetings and encourage Musicians on their daily activities.
  2. To be an advocate for live music performance in Tanzania and to provide a forum for discussion of issues and seek solutions.
  3. To encourage cooperation and communication with related music organizations and businesses by forming a viable trade organization.
  4. To promote live music by:
(A) Reestablishing good and solid approaches and developing new IDeaS to promote live music performance;
(B) Seeking the support of the media industry;
(C) Developing stronger support from the public;
(D) Recommending and encouraging professional standards for the membership and
(E) Creating a songwriters group to promote originality and develop opportunities.

Annual General Meetings

The General Meeting of The Music Federation of Tanzania which including all members Associations dealing with MusicAL performance held every twelve months calendar with 30 days priors to the general meeting and to be followed by extra general meeting called by the board and or by members submitting an special request attached with an agenda and to be submitted to the general secretary two moths before

Board Meetings and sanctions

The day-to-day activities of the Music Federation of Tanzania is conducted by the Secretariat under supervision of the Executive board, which has thirteen members: a president, vice-president, secretary, deputy secretary, Director of finance and five additional members. The board meets on the second Thursday of every month to discuss current activities, take financial account of the organization and review and follow up on ideas submitted by the Secretariat.

Membership Meetings

The board meeting is followed by a general membership meeting, at which members are kept up to date AbOUT the work of the organization and can submit ideas for new projects. Members are encouraged to bring INSTRUMENTS, as the general meeting is usually followed by an open jam session.
