Career
Murcyleen always wanted to be an actress and “could not wait to act in a movie”. In her last year of college, she “got offers from casting directors who would scout for faces in campuses and on Facebook”. But her family did not allow her to take up any film job as her father was a close friend of late Yash Chopra, he introduced her to Yash Chopra and Murcyleen started her career at Yash Raj Films as an Assistant Director to Yash Chopra, her first project was a Salman Khan starrer 'Ek Tha Tiger' in the year 2011 at the age of 19 and was almost signed as the lead in Maneesh Sharma's 'Shudh Desi Romance'.
The dramatic turn came in her life with the death of "King of Romance" film director Yash Chopra. As she was very close to Yash Chopra, his death disturbed her badly and she went into depression for three or four months. In a process of looking for an answer she came across the videos of world renowned Islamic speakers like Nouman Ali Khan, Zakir Naik and Yasmin Mogahed. After watching the videos and reading Islamic books she quit everything and turned to Islamic Studies. Her story is famously known as "YRF (Yash Raj Films) To IRF (Islamic Research Foundation)".
Murcyleen is a part of IRF's Ladies Wing, Mumbai, which is headed by World renowned Islamic Scholar Dr Zakir Naik. Murcyleen calls Zakir Naik's wife Farhat Naik her mentor and looks up to Speakers such as Naoman Ali Khan, Zakir Naik and Yasmin Mogahed.
In August 2014, Murcyleen organised her first ever event 'The Srinagar Peace Conference' which was attended by over 4000 women making it the largest organised islamic event for women in India. Several top islamic women speakers including Mrs. Farhat Naik addressed kashmiri women on various issues. Murcyleen is known to actively make a wider platform for women in the field of dawah.
