Mother of all finals

The "Mother of all finals" is a name given to the second semi final of the 2011 Cricket World Cup to be played at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali on 30th March 2011. The match is to be played by traditional rivals Pakistan and India.

The match has gained extreme importance and has attracted immense attention by cricket fans and media because of its importance in the tournament and more so because of the traditional rivalry between the two countries. Attendance is expected to be at capacity - with The INDIAN Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Yousaf Raza Gillani expected to be in the crowd. Because of the rivalry between the two countries, coupled with the importance of this game, it is arguably the most high profile match in the history of One Day International cricket.

The Indian cricket team is being considered the favorite for the tournament and would be captained by wicketkeeper MS Dhoni. The team is star-studded with names like Sachin Tendulkar, Virendar Sehwag and Zaheer Khan in the ranks. The Pakistan cricket team would be led on to the field by Shahid Afridi - the leading wicket taker of the tournament.

The winner of the match, India, will now go on to play against Sri Lanka in the Final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India on the 2nd of April 2011.
