Morayfield Shopping Centre
Morayfield Shopping Centre is a shopping centre in Morayfield 40km* from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
The design of the centre is heritage style from the delicate details of lace work edging, historic style street lamps and complex cornice work, to the prominent leadlight glass in the atrium and natural skylights throughout.
When the shopping centre first opened in 1997 it had stores including Target, Kmart, Franklins and Bi-Lo. Franklins was taken over by the Woolworths company and in 2007 Bi-Lo was taken over by theColes company.
There is an 8 screen Birch, Carroll and Coyle cinema located in the food court. Intencity is a games arcade which is also located in the food court. There are many different eateries in the food court including McDonalds,Red Rooster, Hungry Jacks and other varieties of food.
Refurbishment in 2005
In 2005, the shopping centre underwent a refurbishment which brought in 17 specialty stores and a Big W. The shopping centre has currently over 150 stores including 7 major and 6 mini major retailers.
It is only a 40 minute drive from both the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane. There is a taxi rank outside and also a bus station with local buses servicing around the Moreton Bay Regional Council. QR Citytrain's Morayfield railway station, is a 10 minute walk away each with paths leading to the centre. For bicycle riders, there are bike racks at the front of each entrance.
