Monster Jam World Finals Records & History

The Monster Jam World Finals is a yearly event, taking place in the month of March. In 2000 sixteen trucks went to Las Vegas, Nevada and two won the racing and freestyle championships. Then in 2001 sixteen more trucks went to Vegas, but this time only one won the championships, and he won them both. In the 2002 EDition sixteen more arrived and the man who won it in 2001 won it once again. Then in 2003 two brand new champions arose above sixteen more trucks. And in 2004 four trucks won against sixteen of the biggest superstars in Monster Jam. In 2005 the field went to twenty and two new champions won it. 2006, two trucks won against twenty-four trucks. And then the 2007 championship, two brand new trucks won the championship, making a total of 8 World Champions!!!! The show as been in Las Vegas, Nevada each year, and in Sam Boyd Stadium!

History of the Champions

TOM MEENTS:

Story of His Championships:

2000: It was the first ever Monster Jam World Finals and Tom Meents drove the Goldberg monster truck to a racing win. Then in freestyle he ripped off the front tire and did an amazing flip, and lost by 2 points to Grave Digger.

2001: Tom was back in Goldberg and won the racing championship over Blue Thunder in the finals. Then in freestyle, he beat Grave Digger out by 2 points!!!

2002: Tom double-downed again, but this time in Team Meents. He won the racing over Bounty Hunter in the finals, and won the freestyle by 1 point over Grave Digger.

2004: Tom was now in Maximum Destruction, and didn't win a World Championship in 2003. Then in 2004 he broke a tire early, and drove on three good tires, having the fourth jammed up inside the truck, but filled the full clock, and blew the engine, and won another World Freestyle Championship.

2006: Maximum Destruction filled in the 2005 Freestyle in Las Vegas, but in 2006 won it all! He lost to Dennis Anderson in Grave Digger who then won the Championship. In freestyle he had his teammate Neil Elliot drive Maximum Destruction 2 onto the floor and jump it, winning again!!!

DENNIS ANDERSON:

Story of His Championships:

2000: The first ever Monster Jam World Finals saw bad news for Dennis Anderson and his Grave Digger is racing, losing to King Krunch early on in the event. But in freestyle, Dennis beat out fivteen other monster trucks and got a perfect score, the only time it has ever been done!

2004: Grave Digger was piloted by Pablo Huffaker in 2003, because Dennis Anderson broke his arm in ealry January 03. Dennis was in Grave Digger in 2004, and Pablo was in Blacksmith in the 5th World Finals ever! Grave Digger and Blacksmith fought in the final race for the 2004 Racing Championship, and Dennis pulled it off!!!

2006: After a loss to Madusa in the final race in the World Finals 2005, Dennis had to face the fast Bounty Hunter for the Championship. It was close until the end. Jimmy in Bounty Hunter told everyone he had the fastest truck their, but Grave Digger was behind, and sped past Bounty Hunter proving Jimmy wrong!

DEBRA MICELLI:

Trucks: Madusa (2000-2005)

Story of Her Championships:

2004: Madusa and Debra Micelli (also known as Madusa) rolled over and broke in the first round of racing in the 2004 Monster Jam World Finals, after she beat the 2003 Racing Champion Brian Barthel in Wolverine. In freestyle she lost the body on the truck and knocked Bounty Hunter off a trailer which he was stuck on, then she flipped over backwards and kept going until she was shut down. She scored a 31, along with Maximum Destruction and El Toro Loco, and the three of them became co-champions.

2005: Madusa (Debra Micelli), was the first woman monster truck driver ever, and was the first monster truck woman driver to ever win a championship in either racing or freestyle. She drove her truck Madusa into a final race against the 2004 Racing Champion Grave Digger and won the 2005 Racing Championship.

JOHN SEASOCK:

Trucks: Sudden Impact (2000-2003), Batman (2007)

World Finals Appearances: 5

Story of His Championship:

2007: John Seasock had been to 4 of the World Finals before (2000-2003), but hadn't been back in a few years. In the winter season of 2006 he climbed into the Batman monster truck and got a World Finals birth. He got eight fastest in the qualifying and made it to the 2007 Monster Jam Championship Race against the 2004 & 2006 Racing Champion. Grave Digger was celebrating it's 25th Anniversary, and had not been driven by Dennis all year because of his arm. Batman WON!!!

PABLO HUFFAKER:

Trucks: Blacksmith (2001-2002, 2004-2006) Grave Digger (2003), Captain's Curse (2007)

Story of His Championship:

2007: Pablo Huffaker had been to the World Finals before. Once he made it to the championship, but lost only to Grave Digger. He had never won a championship until he changed Blacksmith into Captain's Curse. Pablo scored 34, and won over by 4 points to Grave Digger, and was named the World Freestyle Champion]]!

JIM KOEHLER:

Trucks: Avenger (2000-2007)

World Finals Appearances: 8

Story of His Championship:

2003: Jim Koehler is the only driver to make it to all the World Finals with only one monster truck! In 2003 Jim drove Avenger to a championship by one point over El Toro Loco who won it in 2004, the next year, when Avenger broke early.

JIMMY CRETEN:

Trucks: Bounty Hunter (2002-2007)

World Finals Appearances: 6

Story of His Championship:

2005: Jimmy Creten and his truck Bounty Hunter have been known for racing, until the 2005 Monster Jam World Finals. Jimmy has been to the Semi-Finals in the World Finals 5 times, and in the Championship race 3 times (Team Meents in 2002, Wolverine in 2003, Grave Digger in 2006). In 2004 Madusa caused tons of damage to the truck while it sat on a trailer, which she knocked it off of, and then he won the championship with her, in 2005.

LUPE SOZA:

Trucks: El Toro Loco (2003-2007)

World Finals Appearances: 5

Story of His Championship:

2004: Lupe had been to the World Finals in 2003 and lost the freestyle win by 1 point. In 2004 he drove El Toro Loco to a three-way tie with Tom Meents in Maximum Destruction, and Debra Micelli in Madusa.

BRIAN BARTHEL:

Trucks: Wolverine (2001-2003), Little Tiger (2004)

World Finals Appearances: 4

Story of His Championship:

2003: Brian Barthel had been to the Monster Jam World Finals two times before he won it. No one had won in racing before but Tom Meents, and Meents was out fast! Wolverine and Bounty Hunter faced in the finals, and they both lost it in the turn, but Wolverine got the win!
