Monket
Monket is an Ajax-enabled online calendar. The software was developed by Karl O'Keeffe and is offered under a dual Open Source Software license (GPL/Creative Commons). It uses PHP for the back end, but the front end is the selling point. The behavior of the calendar is similar to what you might find in a desktop application but because it is web-based, it is available wherever you are.
Drag and drop events to change dates, drag the start/end of an event to create multi-day events, create and edit events without refreshing the page, all with an Apple iCal/Google Calendar style interface. The interface has been designed to make it as easy as possible to add/change/remove events and thereby reduce the frustration of using The Browser for entering and managing data.
The layout of the events is also important, Monket Calendar is one of the few web based calendars that displays multi-day events spanning across the days on which they occur (Plans Calendar and Google Calendar also have this feature). This spanning of events makes it much easier to read the calendar at a glance.
