Moblyng, based in Redwood City, California is a developer and publisher of cross-platform social applications . As of July 2009, Moblyng Games (a division of Moblyng) is the only developer with CASUAL game titles available on several web and mobile platforms including Facebook, iPhone, Android, Palm and Nokia.
History
Moblyng is a venture-backed startup founded in 2006 by Stewart Putney with $5.7M in funding led by Mohr Davidow Ventures and Deep Fork Capital. The company began as a slide show creation service and has since changed its focus toward becoming a developer and publisher of cross-platform social games.
Business Model
Moblyng’s business model includes revenue earned from the sale of virtual currency from Moblyng Games’ web and mobile titles, as well as through partnerships and technology licensing agreements with other application developers. According to the company’s website, Moblyng has created a mobile application development platform third-party developers can use to build apps for iPhone, Android, Pre/WebOS, Nokia/Symbian, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile.
