MITIS

MIT International School, (abbreviation: MITIS) is an English-language private non-denominational And Co-educational international school in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, Philippines, established in 2004. The first international school in Alabang, MITIS is a school recognized by the Department Of Education, a member of the International Schools Association (ISA), and a candidate for accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

According to its Mission Statement, MITIS "CREATES an environment that supports the individual learner as a whole person. For this reason, the school engages the services of top-caliber professionals, offers state-of-the-art facilities, maintains small class sizes (not more than 18) and a relatively small school population, and sustains constant communication with families."

Its curriculum is similar to that of US schools. Students range from Grade 1 to Grade 12. In 2007 it had around 70 students. In 2011, the school had AbOUT 200 students.

Activities

Special activities such as recreational sports, arts and crafts, drama are offered every Friday after school for all students from elementary to college. MITIS also holds annual school activities such as sports fests, music fests, play fests, promenades and cultural shows.

MITIS Basketball team

MITIS Basketball Team or MITIS Tigers is founded in 2010 and it's currently ACTIVE. It is coached by Coach Christopher Buhain. This team joined official tournaments around Muntinlupa, usually the 3-on-3 games. Their team's colors are gray, orange and blue. They hold practices from Monday to Thursday after school. By June 2011, MITIS Basketball Team will join an international school basketball league.

MITIS Rugby

MITIS Rugby Team is founded in 2010 and it's currently active. It is coached by Coach Christopher Buhain. It held it's first official game versus ISM with a losing effort. Their team's colors are black and yellow. They hold practices every Friday during club time.
