Mindpetals
The Beginning
David Askaripour, founder of Mind Petals, starting thinking AbOUT creating a community for young entrepreneur in early April of 2006 upon noticing a lack of unification of young entrepreneur online. He spent a few months brainstorming and reaching out to entrepreneurs across the world -- gaining an understanding of how they were creating companies and spreading their experiences. By May 2006 he began building the community and thought of the name "Mind Petals" after watching an inspiring movie where scientist and environmentalist were sharing IDeaS about saving the Earth. The name was quite fitting since the community planned to allow entrepreneurs to share ideas and experience with the world.
Launching of Mind Petals
On June 4, 2006 Mind Petals launched from David's apartment on Roosevelt Island, New York City around 12 AM.
Progression of Mind Petals
Mind Petals attracted successful young entrepreneurs such as Darren Herman of IGA Worldwide, Ryan Allis of Icontact, Michael Simmons of Extreme Entrepreneurship, etc. Being mentioned in book such as Campus CE0 (pg. 19, 211), by Dr. Randal Pinkett and Create the Demand(pg. 133), by Joel A. Freeman
In time, the community expanded from it's roots as an "young entrepreneurship" community and began focusing on the theme of "Ideas." Ideas from all sorts of people, i.e., entrepreneurs, scientists, engineers, artists, writers, etc. Anyone that had ideas and insights to share with the world.
