Milorad Ćustić

Milorad Ćustić is Serbian cultural worker and benefactor from France.

Biography

Milorad Ćustić is born in Čurug in Bačka on October 13th 1954. His father is Sava Ćustić and mother is Milica (born Pećić). Primary school and catechism Ćustić attended in his birthplace. He moved to France with his parents in 1969, where he graduated primary and high school. He married Anka (born Naumov). They have daughters Milica, Marijana and Mirjana and grandchildren Luka and Lisa. Family Ćustić came to Čurug after World war II from Osinja near Derventa (Republic Srpska). There are family ties with an old and numerous clan Maleševci.

Activities

Milorad Ćustić initiated and founded internet presentation Maleševci. He is main editor of this presentation. He was vice-president and one of founders of former club of Parisian Serbs, Domovina (Домовина). Within this club were different cultural and sport activities. Ćustić is honorific member of Association of citizens “Serbian despot” (Српски деспот) and member of cultural – artistic society Mladost (Младост).

Ćustić is initiator and main patron of monography Maleševci – clan with family feast on st. Ignatius day, published within edition Series of Serbian ethnography and history. As patron, he participated in publishing monographies Dalmatian Serb families and About history of the Sentandrejan families. Together with Aleksandar Bačko, Milorad Ćustić is coauthor of monography Serbs of northern Bosnia (writing in progress) and main patron of this monography. He actively participate in different researches, concerning genealogy, genetic genealogy and ethnography.

He was organizer of various concerts of distinguished Serbian musicians at Paris. Milorad Ćustić is very active in social and cultural life of Serbs in France and in Serbia. He was one of presenters of first free broadcast in Serbian language at French radio Soleil, in 1981.
