Mikey Williams

Mikey Williams (born June 26, 2004) is an American basketball player who attends San Ysidro High School in San Diego, California. He is considered a top player in the 2023 recruiting class and has offers from many NCAA Division I programs.
Early life
Williams first held a basketball when he was 10 months old and grew up under the tutelage of his father. In his childhood, he mainly played on an outdoor court in his apartment complex. In elementary school, Williams got into fights with bullies on a regular basis. For years, he worked as a ball boy for San Ysidro High School head coach Terry Tucker because "we couldn't keep him out of the gym."
In middle school, Williams played for a travel team called the Malcolm Thomas All-Stars. In eighth grade, Williams joined the North Coast Blue Chips, an Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) team, where he was teammates with Bronny James, the son of basketball player LeBron James. He scored 41 points in his high school debut in a victory over El Cajon Valley (CA) on November 20, and followed that up with a 50-point performance against Mission Bay (CA) a few days later. On December 13, in just his ninth game, he scored 77 points against Kearny (CA) to break the CIF San Diego Section - as well as the California freshman - single-game scoring record. Williams scored 35 points in a January loss to nationally ranked Rancho Christian (CA) led by top 2020 recruit Evan Mobley.

Williams received offers from many NCAA Division I programs, including , and before starting his high school career.
Personal life
Williams' father Mahlon played basketball for Sweetwater High School and was an All-CIF San Diego Section selection, and his mother Charisse played softball for Kearny High School and Hampton University.<ref name=brand/>
