Miguel Antonio Perez
Miguel Antonio Perez (born October 17, 1991) in Queens, New York, is a Major League Soccer player currently playing for D.C. United in Major League Soccer.
Career
Early Years
Miguel Antonio Perez began his career at age 12 playing for a Junior League Soccer team in his hometown Brooklyn, New York. At age 14 he moved on to play for a Minor League Soccer team, the Brooklyn Knights, before moving up a level higher and playing for the Silver Lake Dinamo. On March 15, 2008, Miguel entered the 2008 Major League Soccer first-year player draft where he was drafted by the New England Revolution. With them he signed a one year contract worth $330,000 plus a $1.2M signing bonus.
New England Revolution
Miguel started out with the Revolution as a rookie in 2008. He got off to a great start, leading his team in goals and points. He was elected to the 2008 MLS All-Star Game. On July 14, 2008, he suffered a season-ending hamstring injury and not only missed out on being an All-Star Rookie, but more importantly the rest of the 2008 season, leading to his team going from first to out of the playoffs. On November 1, 2008, when the MLS season came to an end, so did his one-year contract with the New England Revolution.
D.C. United
On January 2, 2009, Miguel signed on with D.C. United. His contract was one-year, $332,000 with a $1M guaranteed signing bonus.
