Micheal Ade Ojo

Micheal Ade Ojo,OON (14 June 1938, Ondo State, Nigeria) is a business magnate in Nigeria and founder of Elizade University.

Early life

Chief Micheal Ade Ojo, a westerner from Ondo state, Nigeria was born on 14 june 1938 at Ilara-mokin Ondo state, Nigeria into the family of the late chief Solomon Ojo and late mrs. Beatrice Ademolawe Ojo. He attended St. Michael’s Anglican School, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, Nigeria. He later attended Imade College, Owo, Nigeria (1954-1958), where he obtained the West Africa Examination Certificate (WAEC). He later proceeded to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) in 1961, where he bagged a Bachelor of Art (B.A) degree in Business Administration in 1965.

Business career

After his graduation in 1965, he worked with CFAO for few years and joined the service of the Federal Inland Revenue. He left in 1967 to joined the African petroleum, then British Petroleum Nigeria Limited where he worked for three years (1967-1971). In 1975, he established the Elizade Independent Agencies, a business co-founded with his late wife, Chief (Mrs.) Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo. The company have now metamorphosed into Elizade group of company (Toyota Nigeria Limited, Oodua Creations Ltd, among others). He is the Chairman of several companies such as Toyota Nigeria Limited, Imperial Telecommunications Limited, Custodian & Allied Insurance Company Ltd among others. He is also a Director in several organizations among which are Ecobank Nigeria Plc, First City Monument Group, Meristem Securities Limited.

• Chieftaincy title of “Aare Ataiyese of Ilara-Mokin” (1992)
• Chieftancy title “Asiwaju of Imesi-Ile”, of the home town of his late wife, Chief (Mrs) Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo.
• Chieftancy title of “Baaloro of the Source, Ile-Ife by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade.
• Fellowship of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (2005)
• Nnamdi Azikiwe Distinction Award for Excellence (1987)
