Michael Meanwell (author)

Michael Meanwell, (born August 25, 1963), is an Australian marketing communications writer and author.

Meanwell was born in Sydney, New South Wales, and educated at Brisbane Grammar School in Queensland. He was raised in Brisbane and later the Gold Coast before moving to Melbourne, Victoria, where he has spent the past 20 years. He is a relative of writer Adam Lindsay Gordon, widely regarded as the ‘national poet of Australia’.

He has written two non-fiction books: The Enterprising Writer (2003, Australia) and The Wealthy Writer (2004, USA). Both are based on his 20-plus years experience in journalism, public relations and marketing, and show other writers how to establish a commercial writing career.

He has also self-published two e-books: Quote Unquote and Writers on Writing (2001), which are compendiums of literary quotations and positive affirmations. And he has a number of unpublished works, including short stories, novels and a play.

In addition to writing, Meanwell has a strong interest in spirituality. He has produced CDs and presents workshops on meditation, natural therapies and complementary techniques.

During the late 1990s, he hosted a weekly Melbourne radio show with interviews and commentary on various spiritual issues. He also appeared on a regular TV panel show on spirituality, Pathways in 1999 - 2000, and presented a two-part television special on personal empowerment in 1999.
