Melvin Smith, Jr.

Mel Smith (born in Lynwood, California on 8 May, 1983) is an American entrepreneur.

Smith was born in Lynwood, California. Smith is the oldest of two siblings. He grew up in Murrieta, California and attended Linfield High School in Temecula, California.

College Life

Smith holds an MBA from the Graduate School of Management at the University of Phoenix and a BA in Economics from California State University, Fresno. In his senior year, Smith participated in an Open Market Committee Symposium with the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and presented his findings on national and international economic policy. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Smith authored a study on race and its effect on salaries using econometric and multiple regression models.

Current career

In May 2005 he joined Vak Sambath to help start Campusbug.com, a social learning network that provides educational resources and networking capabilities to students around the world.

Smith is single and currently resides in Riverside County, California.
