McKinnon & Clarke, was founded by Sandy McKinnon and his friend Roy Clarke in 1976. The company initially operated from a humble small Maidstone office.

The company's profits grew quickly, and in 1987, M&C acquired its first major brands Telecost Analysis Ltd , this was also the time they developed into a much larger company and opened offices in Edinburgh and Stockport.
