Martin Santiago Augusto Castillo
Martin Castillo (born 4 May in Cordoba, Argentina) is an Argentine boxer based in Kissimmee, Florida. He is currently the WBC International Champion and In Ring Boxer of the Year, and former WBA Amateur Champion (REGIONAL) World Championship Boxing and In Ring Magazine rate him as #1 Light Fly Weight (INTERNATIONAL)
Early years in Argentina
Castillo was born in Cordoba, Argentina. Took up boxing from his father who spent time at the boxing gym, enlisten at Boxeo Córdoves, De Argetina at the age of 6.
First loss
Castillo had his first loss at the age of 11, his first fight in America. Castillo decided to fight South Paw, instead of his original Orthodox, He lost 113 - 109, Following that fight, Castillo lost his second fight one month later.
Road to Gold
Castillo had his first Championship fight at the age of 14, after defeating 10 opponents in the JR. Silver Glove Regional Championship. Castillo won the fight by a Marvelous knockout in the 5th round. Crowning him the JR. Regional Silver Glove Champion.
Recovery
Castillo dealt with a very serious eye injury after his 39th fight, even though he won, he had to face a year of recovery for his beat up eye.
Silver Glove
Castillo entered the Silver Glove Tournament on November 26 of 2010, having to face 7 opponents, then the reigning champion of last years Silver Glove, Castillo defeated all odds and won the most difficult tournament Amateur boxers go through, Crowning the National Siver Glove Champion of the United States of America.
Present
Castillo works out at (GOLDEN GLOVE GYM, WORLD'S CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING, and AMMATURE BOXING ASSOCIATION) spending most of his time practicing for his next fights.
Professional Career
Castillo entered his Professional Career on December, 25th. Castillo's since then won 2 Golden Glove Tournaments, 5 Club Show Tournaments, an Interternational Champion, and an World Champion, making him the #1 Light Fly-Weight in the world for the 3rd year in a row.
