Marko Kumer – Murč

Marko Kumer - Murč is a Slovenian stand-up comedian. He is a member of Komikaze, a Slovenian group of stand-up comedians, and Aggressive Theatre, an association for contemporary arts.

Stand-up comedy

Marko Kumer - Murč started stage performing right after moving to Ljubljana in 2005. He joined Šentjakobsko gledališče, the main Slovene amateur theatre. In the year 2007, he concentrated his stage performance on stand-up comedy. He first performances were alongside Tin Vodopivec, who at the time significantly more developed and active comedian. Later that year he joined a stand-up comedy workshop and started organizing comedy events. In February 2008, he joined Komikaze, a Slovene stand-up comedy group.

He performed at most Slovene comedy clubs (Gromka Club, SubSub, KUD France Prešeren etc) and festivals (Festival Lent 2007, Kočevje se prebuja 2008, Mesto na ulici 2009, Carniola 2009, Buchanologija stand-up comedy show 2009, etc.)

Contemporary arts

As a member of Aggressive theatre, the association for contemporary arts, he writes poems, prose and drama. He is the co-author of a group project, literary performance named GEN80, Blok - poetry collection, the combined video performance installation named Spusti me k sebi (Let me come to you) and the author of projects: Poizkus (The Experiment), an experimental project performed in Stockholm 2009, Rastoča poezija (A Growing Poetry), visual experimental project performed in Ljubljana 2009).

He is the author of a short documentary named Z mopedom nad Istanbul (Over Istanbul by moped), presented on Filofest festival 2007, Ravnefest festival 2007 and Tuzla international festival of amateur, art and trash film), short films Glava Marka Korenjaka (The head of Marko Korenjak), Desiah, Lulbana, and several others.
