Mark H. Young

A veteran, award-winning journalist, Mark H. Young is also the author of Devil's Pillar. Devil's Pillar is a horror novel steeped in a classical good vs. evil story line. Young has worked for newspapers all across the country and has worked in all aspects of journalism. Getting his start as a sports writer in South Florida, Young climbed the ladder quickly to become an award-winning lead reporter in Wyoming, to an editor of three weeklies in South Florida and back to the Midwest where he currently works as an investigative reporter. Young also authors a daily humor/political column entitled Tales from the Mark Side at liveweston.com. He began his career with the Okeechobee Fisherman Magazine before becoming a sportswriter for the Okeechobee Daily News in South Florida. He began in 1997, rising to sports editor by the end of his tenure in 2000. Young took a sports job with the Montana Standard, in Butte, but quickly took his award-winning lead reporter position in Buffalo Wyoming, in 2002. After a year with the Buffalo Bulletin, Young was offered a news editor position with Independent Newspapers, which also owns the Okeechobee News. He returned to South Florida to run the Clewiston News, Glades County Democrat and Belle Glade Sun. After more than two years at the helm of the South Lake Group, Young temporarily took some time off to complete Devil's Pillar. In July of 2007, Young returned to journalism and is currently working for the North Platte Telegraph, in North Platte, Nebraska and is working on his second book, Love is the Mirror of Life due out sometime in 2008.
