Marion M. Graham
Marion Margaret Graham, (August 25, 1903 - April 23, 1995) was a prominent citizen of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. She began teaching in Saskatchewan following her graduation from Saskatoon Normal School (University of Saskatchewan) in 1928.
She worked tirelessly with the Canadian Air Cadet program during the 1950s. She was a member of the staff of #107 Spitfire Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron located in Saskatoon. She was the first woman to serve in the Canadian Air Force. Although she was the first woman to become an Officer in the Canadian Air Force, females would not legally be permitted to join Cadets until 30 July 1975 when an act of parliament changed the word "boys" to "persons" in pertinent legislation.
Honours
Marion M. Graham Collegiate in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, a school library, and an air cadet division has been named in her honour. She received the Order of Merit from the national Royal Candian Air Force {RCAF). She received the Member of the Order of Canada.
