Marco António Delgado
Marco António Gaspar Colaço Delgado commonly known as Marco Delgado (born 11 February 1974) is a Portuguese football fitness coach and a former footballer who is the current fitness coach of Al-Nahda Club of Oman Professional League.
Coaching career
Marco holds the UEFA A License, the highest football coaching qualification from Portuguese Football Federation and also the football training license from the The Football Association.
Portugal
Marco began his coaching career as a fitness coach in Portugal in 2001 with Portuguese Third Division club Grupo Desportivo Águias de Camarate. In 2002, he moved to Caldas da Rainha where he was appointed as the fitness coach of Portuguese Second Division club Caldas Sport Clube. In 2004, he moved to Alcântara (Lisbon) and signed a one-year contract with another Portuguese Second Division club Atlético Clube de Portugal. In 2005, he moved to Madeira where he signed a one-year contract with a Portuguese Third Division club C.F. Caniçal.
Kuwait
He first moved out of his nation Portugal in 2007 to Kuwait where he was appointed as the fitness coach of Kuwaiti Premier League club Al-Arabi SC. During his two-year spell at Al-Mansouriah-based club, he helped them win the 2008 Kuwait Emir Cup and reach the finals of the 2009 edition. He also helped them win the 2008-09 Kuwait Super Cup.
Back to Portugal
In 2009, he came back to Portugal and back to his home town Lisbon where he was appointed as the fitness coach of another Portuguese Second Division club A.D. Carregado.
United Arab Emirates
He once again moved out of Portugal in 2010 and this time to the United Arab Emirates where he signed a one-year contract with UAE Division 1 club Hatta Club. He helped his club win the 2011-12 UAE Division 1 league hence earning them promotion to the 2012–13 UAE Pro-League. In 2012, he was appointed as the fitness coach of another Emirati club Al-Shaab CSC who were then playing in the UAE Pro-League. He helped them secure the 12th (Relegation/Promotion Play-Off) position in the 2012-13 season which gave them another chance to play in the 2013–14 Arabian Gulf League. In 2013, he was appointed as the fitness coach of another UAE Division 1 club Dibba Al-Hisn Sports Club.
Oman
In 2014, he moved to Oman where he signed a one-year contract with 2013–14 Oman Professional League champions Al-Nahda Club. A few days after his arrival at the Al-Buraimi-based club, he helped them win the 2014 Oman Super Cup against Oman's most successful club Fanja SC.
