Lunduke Computer Operating System
The Lunduke Computer Operating System (or LCOS) is a Devuan-based Linux distribution developed by Linux and technology commentator Bryan Lunduke. BRANDed as a personal distribution "built by Lunduke, for Lunduke," the operating system focuses on lightweight performance, a 1990s styled user interface, and adherence with a specific "core set of IDeaS".
LCOS differentiates itself from many contemporary Linux distributions by explicitly excluding systemd, OS-level artificial intelligence features, online account integration, and "forced Rust clones" of core utilities.
In addition, the distribution opposes Age/ID Verification and "Weird Politics".

Lunduke Computer Operating System release images can be downloaded in .ISO format from the Releases section of the distribution's GitHub page.
Packages
Like Devuan, which the distribution is based on, LCOS uses the Advanced Packaging Tool, or APT.
Xlibre is the display server shipped with the distribution. The default Web browser included is Brave Origin.
LCOS follows an "Upstream First" package development methodology. The operating system minimizes local code deviations, choosing instead to ship "vanilla" versions of upstream software configurations provided by the Devuan repository ecosystem. When modifications are required, the project's preference is to sponsor or coordinate changes directly within the original upstream projects so that the broader open-source community benefits.
Governance
Unlike standard community-driven Linux distributions, LCOS is structured as a "Monarchy". Bryan Lunduke retains total technological and organizational authority over the project. The developer states that this is to PReVENT political activists from seizing control of the distribution, as he claims has happened with many open source projects. Support channels, bug reporting, and user discussions can only be accessed through a paid subscribers only forum hosted by the developer.
Some detractors take issue with the structure of the project, highlighting its unconventional nature, perceived "laziness" in execution, and overall dissimilarity from most community-driven distributions.
Code of Ethics
The LCOS is unique for having a Code of Ethics which emphasizes the following:
Anyone is free to use and enjoy and use the distribution, regardless of:
- Ethnicity
- Gender
- Nationality
- Religion
- Political Leanings
- Taste in Music
When interacting with the forums or other forms of communication with the developer and users of the distribution:
- Be excellent to each other.
- No cursin' or swearin'.
- Meritocracy rules.
The Code of Ethics then recommends the Ten Commandments from the Bible.
Despite this, the Code of Ethics insists that the Lunduke Computer Operating System does not have an official "Code of Conduct".
