Louis Velazquez

Louis Velazquez (born August 16, 1969) is an American businessman and retired professional wrestler. He is the founder of Falcon Global Acquisitions, a private equity firm that focuses on restructuring American manufacturing and technology companies. He is also the host of Money Never Sleeps Radio and the UCW Radio Show.

Biography

Louis Velazquez is a retired American professional wrestler, athlete, bodybuilder, radio show & film producer, financial leader and speaker. He is known for his professional wrestling moniker Falcon Coperis, which was turned into part of a comic book series titled Weapons of Virtue.

As a wrestler he was known by Falcon Coperis and held various championships including the UCW Heavyweight Championship, UWF Heavyweight Championship and wrestled with various WWE/WWF/WCW superstars during his career. Over the past 15 years he has hosted two radio shows, the UCW Radio Show and Money Never Sleeps Radio, as well as has been a public speaker at various conferences in the financial and real estate industry. He has been involved in various entertainment projects from stage and screen.

As a businessman he has been in the financial industry for over 25 years and is currently involved in private equity, acquiring and restructuring companies in the manufacturing and technology sectors.

Early life

Velazquez was born into a Catholic family in the Bronx, NY on August 16, 1969, the son or Mildred and Louis Velazquez Sr. Velazquez began his education at Herman Ritter JHS followed by Richmond Hill High School ('87), where he participated in fencing, gymnastics, basketball and the cooperative program. He was accepted to Princeton and Harvard Universities but due to financial circumstances he chose to enroll in the Marine Corps. Following a severe knee injury he was discharged and went to work at First Boston Corp in Manhattan, New York City where he completed his high school cooperative.

Martial arts, boxing and fitness

At the age of 11 he began boxing in underground gyms in the Bronx where he needed to learn some defense skills to survive the mean streets where he grew up. The training continued solely in boxing until his family moved to Queens, NY where he met his martial arts instructor at a local Boys and Girls Club. He began martial arts training in 1984 under Louis Rebello, deceased, in the hybrid martial arts system called Rebello Martial Arts, which is a mixture of Tae Kwon Do , Jeet Kune Do , Jiu Jitsu and military combat training. Being a thin young man at the time his teacher recommended that he start weight training, which grew into a passion that became part of his lifestyle. He has been a member of the Jeet Kune Association, Okinawan Martial Arts Society and has received various recognition in martial arts during his lifetime. Bodybuilding became a cornerstone of his life along side martial arts which brought him into his professional wrestling career.

Professional wrestling career

Velazquez began his professional wrestling career in Brooklyn, NY in 1987 at the famed Gleasons Gym under the tutelage of Bobby Bold Eagle. He was introduced to the sport by Jim Hellwig, who was also a bodybuilder turned professional wrestler. Being muscular at this time along with a background in martial arts and boxing made this a natural progression and a path to earn extra money. He wrestled at various lodges, bars and small venues through out the Northeast while still maintaining a career in finance. In 1994 he was instrumental in the creation of the Ultimate Wrestling Federation in the Northeast which changed its names to the Ultimate Championship Wrestling in 1996. He wrestled with names such as Jim "The Anvil, Neidhart, Bruce Hart, Tatanka, King Kong Bundy, and various other headliners of the day. In 1997 he was slated to wrestle Rocky Maivia aka Dwayne Johnson and Jim Hellwig aka The Ultimate Warrior but a back injury forced him into retirement in mid 1997. The UCW Radio Show

In 1999 he decided to create a radio show titled The UCW Radio Show that would allow him to put a spotlight on various actors, athletes, authors and notables affording them the ability to tell the story of their lives in a format that use their words in an unscripted fashion. In 2011 he created a number of financial industry geared radio shows which led him to launching Money Never Sleeps Radio, which focuses on various areas of finance.

Business career

After working various jobs in New York City's financial sector, he took an opportunity to work as a stockbroker under the tutelage of a former top stockbroker at boutique investment firm at Rockefeller Center in 1992. He became a top producing retail stockbroker and became president of Atlantic General Financial Services in 1995 at the age of 26. In 1997 he went into the private sector working with private companies who were in need of restructuring and financing. He also ventured into the commercial real estate sector where he participated in over $1 billion of private transactions internationally. This brought him to founding the private equity firm Falcon Global Acquisitions in 2011 where the focus is acquiring distressed assets, restructuring and refinancing. Over his career he managed well over $500 million in assets for clients internationally and has worked closely with institutional organizations assisting in funding turn around situations.

The focus of his firm to date has been in the manufacturing and technology industry, where Velazquez is seeking to revive various manufacturing companies in the United States , creating skilled jobs and assisting in rebuilding American Manufacturing.

Personal life

Velazquez mainly live in New York City and travels frequently to Florida , North Carolina and Georgia where his manufacturing businesses are located. He is an avid fitness aficionado, training religiously daily in bodybuilding and all around athletics.

Politics

A supporter of Republican Politics, he was a supporter of President George W. Bush , John McCain , Mitt Romney and President Elect Donald J. Trump

Charitable contributions

Velazquez works with various animal and children related causes, either lending his time or name to further the reach of the cause. He assist in the battle against dog fighting in America and is very vocal on his position via traditional or social media.
