Design
Medal
The medal is a rectangular form of a cross with a cut out relief of the Republic of the Philippines coat of arms in the center. The coat of arms is bordered in a gold. Below the seal is a scroll where the words "Republic of the Philippines" are written. The cross supporting the RP seal represents the services rendered by the individual to the country. The medal is in a cross pattée design on the background. The cross is a tinted black. It is bordered in a silver.
Ribbon
The service ribbon is all red in color. It has no stripe on it, like most of the other designs in the Philippines. The design is such that it is noticed as being the ribon for the Long Service Medal. The ribbon that is attached to the medal is tinted in a red colour that is the same as the ribbon that is used in an undress. The ribbon on the medal is attached by a golden ring which is attached to a golden clasp which connects with the medal.
