London City Singers
London City Singers is an all-female chorus based in London, England in the United Kingdom, singing a cappella four-part harmony, arranged in barbershop style. It was formed in 2007 with 7 singers and currently has around 30 members. It is the first women's barbershop chorus in central London.
London City Singers is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, a worldwide non-profit organisation of women singers.
History
London City Singers was formed in 2007 - the first women's barbershop chorus in central London. It started with a group of just 7 singers - the chorus now has around 30 members.
Membership
London City Singers is a fun, fresh and lively women's chorus right in the heart of central London. Most members are professionals working in and around the City of London who come together straight after work to indulge in a shared passion for singing. New members are always welcome.
Open rehearsals
An open rehearsal is organised at least once per year where potential members get a chance to see the chorus practising songs from the repertoire. At times, the potential members are invited to learn a song and sing with the chorus.
Competition
Each year, London City Singers take part in the Quartet of Nations, Sweet Adelines International Region 31, convention weekend. The chorus has always competed in Division A, which consists of choruses with 15-30 members.
London City Singers first competed in 2010 at the Sage in Gateshead.
Performances
London City Singers perform all throughout the year for charity and fundraising events, corporate functions, weddings and festivals. Each year, the chorus performs under the Christmas tree in Trafalgar Square, raising money for a local charity.

Education
London City Singers is committed to learning more AbOUT the art of a cappella singing. Vocal development is a regular part of rehearsals and a very important part of the chorus experience. A few times a year, the chorus invites high-quality coaches on vocal production, musicality and performance skills.
