Lohchav
Lochav (लोचव] lohchab[लोचब] Lohchap (लोहचप)Lohchav(लोहचव) Lochhav (लोछव) Lohach (लोहच) or Arh is gotra of Jatts. They were called Lohchav as Panwars had inhabited this area in Rohtak. They are found in Punjab , Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. The King Arh was in fourth generation of Ardas and is mentioned in many stories of Puranas. He was a brave Warrior. According to Todd's Rajasthan the origin of the Arh dynasty cannot be traced out, but a few gotras of this dynasty are found among the Jatts.
Distribution
Very few Jatts belonging to this gotra are found to day. They have four villages in Haryana -Bupaniya, Katlupur, Jhinjoli and Shahpur, two villages in Delhi - Auchandi , Near Narala & one in South Delhi-Village Bamnoli, one village In Uttar Pradesh - Some where in Bagpat District.
Katlupur most prominent Lohchab Village in Haryana is at 28°50'33"N 77°1'49"E many families of this village are settled in Delhi and some families of katlupur are now permanently settled in Gohana- Sonipat district.
Lohchap population is 480 in Patiala district.
