Lochlainn McKenna
Lochlainn Myles Crimthann McKenna (born 22 May 1993) is an Irish actor from Cork City. He has appeared in a variety of films, television programs, web series and stage productions.
Early Life
McKenna was born in Cork City, Ireland on the 22nd of May 1993, the son of Niamh (née Kenny) and Paul McKenna. His father was a stone mason, his mother was mid-completing a degree in Psychology when Lochlainn was born. Lochlainn attended primary school in Mallow, County Cork at Gaeilscoil Thomais Daibhís. That was followed by education in Coláiste An Phiarsaigh, Glanmire, Cork. Lochlainn went on to study Drama and Theatre Studies in University College Cork.
He is a fluent Irish speaker and an avid supporter of the Irish language and enjoys attending céilís.
Career
Film & Television
McKenna first performed in a short film Na Creid i Scealtaí Taibhse under the directorial eye of Paddy O'Shea whilst in secondary school. Soon after he went on to make his television début on Mind The Gap Films Hands On for RTÉ (Radió Teilifís Éireann) in 2008. He went on to make two more appearances in two separate episodes for the series in 2011 and 2012. McKenna played the part of Stevie in Irish Film Board short film Sylvia in 2012.
Stage
In 2010 McKenna was part of the cast of the The Silver Tassie (play) with Druid Theatre Company, directed by Tony Award winner Gary Hynes.
