Expanding stadiums

Norway and Sweden have announced their intention to co-host the UEFA Euro 2016 championships. The bid was confirmed by Football Association of Norway and Swedish Football Association at a press conference in Oslo on 26 February 2009.

The intention is that the championship will be played in Stockholm Swedbank Arena, Ullevi Stadium, Swedbank Stadion, Olympia and Stockholm Arena in Sweden. The games that will be played in Norway are Lerkendal Stadion and Viking Stadium, including two new football stadiums. The stadiums have to be ready by the 30. June 2014 and will be inspected by UEFA.
