List of mutants in Power Rangers: Time Force
In Power Rangers: Time Force, there are futuristic creatures called mutants that terrorized Millennium City in the future. Some of them commit crimes and ally themselves with Ransik. If apprehended by the Time Force Police, they are cryogenically frozen and shrunken to the size of action figures. When Ransik stole the prison where they were being held and went to the time period of 2001, he restored them to normal and used them to attack Silver Hills. If their DNA Patch is removed, they grow to gigantic size and shrink back to action figure size when defeated, allowing for containment by the Rangers.
However, some of these foes are not mutants, but rather, robots that are creations of Frax. They can't be brought in - instead they are to be destroyed.
Mutants
Here are the mutants used by Ransik:
"Flamecon"
- First Appearance: "Force From the Future, Part 1" (02/03/2001)
- Voice Actor: Michael Sorich (uncredited)
In the year 3000, this mutant was handcuffed by the Time Force police and sent into the prison for cryogenic freezing and containment. He was a white-skinned mutant with a red jacket, black pants, and a green mohawk. After escaping to 2001, Ransik unfroze him and the Rangers fought him at the beginning of the episode "A Parting of Ways" (though this time he lacked the ability to speak). After the mutant presumably laid waste to four of the Rangers, Wes laid him out with several punches, but then the mutant got back up and ripped off his DNA patch, exposing his DNA and enabling him to become a giant. The Rangers then received aid in the form of the Time Force Megazord, which started off in Jet Mode. It created a tornado to send the mutant reeling, and then it transformed into its Mode Blue. After it landed some devastating hits on the mutant, the Rangers converted the Megazord to Mode Red. They used the Time Force Megazord Saber slash to defeat and re-shrink the mutant for containment once again.
Jetara
- First Appearance: "Something to Fight For" (02/17/2001)
- Voice Actor: Derek Stephen Prince
He was the very first of the chrono-frozen mutants that was unfrozen and released by Ransik to cause havoc in the city of Silver Hills. Jetara was a silver-and-red mutant with a large hump on his back which had spikes protruding from it, and he also had sharp claws and could shoot fireballs from his hands. His name came from the fact that he could use jet power to take to the skies in battle. When the Time Force Rangers first encountered him, Jetara proved tough but ended up getting hit by a Time Strike from Wes, the then-inexperienced Red Ranger. However, the attack exposed the mutant's DNA, causing him to grow. He then took to the air and started to attack the city. Their ally, Circuit, called Captain Logan for some help, and from the year 3000, Logan sent in the Time Force Megazord. It first fought Jetara in Mode Blue, with Jetara spending much of the battle in the air. After the Rangers gained the upper-hand, Circuit told them to use Time Force Megazord's Mode Red. After converting to Mode Red, Wes used the Time Force Megazord Saber, and with one simple swipe of the saber, Jetara was brought down and shrunken back to Chrono-Frozen mode for re-confinement.
Fearog II
- First Appearance: "Ransik Lives" (02/24/2001)
- Voice Actor: David Stenstrom
Ransik released this cybernetic white frog mutant to accompany him as he broadcast his arrival message on TV. Fearog could shoot lasers from his hands, and he mistakenly decimated a pair of Cyclobots, thinking they were the Time Force. Later, after Ransik told captive Wes (who took an odd job as a painter in this ep) about the horrifying story of his origin, he summoned Fearog to finish off the cuffed Ranger, but the others bailed him out before Fearog had a chance to do so. Wes morphed and confronted the mutant. After getting shot by the Time Blasters, Fearog pulled off his DNA patch to make himself grow (and upon growing, he wielded a sword). The Rangers called for their Time Force Megazord to finish the job, first by using Mode Blue and the Time Jet, and then finally putting him on ice with a swipe from Mode Red's Megazord Saber.
NOTE: This monster is not to be confused with the Fearog that appeared in the Power Rangers in Space episode, "The Great Evilyzer".
Mantamobile
- First Appearance: "A Blue Streak" (03/03/2001)
- Voice Actor: Richard Steven Horvitz
Nadira, believing that money was a great source of power for the humans, brought out this blue manta ray mutant to accompany her in a string of bank heists. Mantamobile had long tentacles that he could extend and retract at will. He was well-known (probably in the future) as a master car thief, and he transformed two convertibles into sinister vehicles that would be used for the devious operation. He accompanied Nadira and the Cyclobots to perform the robberies, and had the ability to turn himself into a regular manta ray to stop any moving vehicle cold in its tracks. They were able to steal plenty of money, but once the Rangers arrived in their new Vector Cycles, Nadira's wheels were no match for them, so she had Mantamobile face the Rangers. Wes and Lucas hit him with a pair of Time Strikes, but the mutant wouldn't go down. Circuit had the Rangers create the Vortex Blaster for the first time. It worked well enough to blast the mutant senseless, but unfortunately, he was still standing after that, and he turned things up a notch by yanking off his DNA patch to grow big-time. Upon growing he gained a set of chest armor. The Rangers called for the Time Force Megazord to take down this menacing manta, but Mode Blue wasn't able to do him in as the Time Jet and its flying kick attacks had no effect on the mutant. Mantamobile then wrapped it up in his tentacles and prepared for the kill, but the Rangers broke free by creating the Megazord's Mode Red. One saber slash later, Mantamobile was shrunken and frozen again, and his thieving days were over.
Tentaclaw
- First Appearance: "A Parting of Ways" (03/10/2001)
- Voice Actor: Ezra Weisz
Nadira's new plan was to kidnap someone important and ransom them for cash. For this plan she unleashed Tentaclaw, a lobster-like mutant whose head can separate itself from the rest of his body and float around. He also has loads of tentacles to use in battle, hence the name. He was known for kidnapping the mayor in the year 3000. In the present-day, Tentaclaw's head sneaked up on a school bus of kids (who just came back from playing a baseball game) and boarded the bus. He then brought in his body to terrify the passengers even more, as he declared that it was a kidnapping, and then he knocked the driver away to take over the wheel. The Rangers raced in on their Vector Cycles, hoping to rescue everyone, but Tentaclaw had other IDeaS - he used his tentacles to knock out Lucas and Jen, and then planted a bomb on the road to stun the other three. As the bus sped away under his head's control, his body threw the Rangers the ransom note. He then held the kids and the driver behind a force-field in an abandoned warehouse, where Nadira chewed him out for the fact that he didn't kidnap anyone "important". Four of the Rangers found them and were able to stop the mutant just before he destroyed his hostages. Both Tentaclaw and the Cyclobots gave the Rangers a hard time, though. When it looked like he was about to destroy the kids and driver again, Wes rushed in and destroyed the force-field, and then directed everyone to safety. Tentaclaw now faced all 5 Rangers, and he used his tentacles to his advantage until Wes severed them with his Chrono-Saber. He readied a Time Strike, but then Tentaclaw's head floated around again, zapping the Rangers as it floated by. Jen stunned the head with a blast from her V-5 weapon, and then the Rangers shrunk the head, literally, for containment with a shot from the Vortex Blaster. However, Tentaclaw's body was still intact, and it ripped off its DNA patch to become a giant. The Time Force Megazord (Mode Blue) came in to face off with the headless giant, who still proved to be strong against the Rangers. However, the tide was turned after a pair of spinning drop kicks from Mode Blue to the headless mutant, sending the body flying. Immediately, the Rangers set up Mode Blue's Time Jet in its Blaster Mode, and fired it at the headless body to finish it off (although it's unclear as to whether the body was completely destroyed, or just shrunken off-screen).
"Blue Mutant"
- First Appearance: "Short-Circuited" (03/17/2001)
This unnamed blue mutant with a red head, bunny ears, big teeth and large claws, giving him the face of a skeleton or a zombie was sent by Nadira to attack the Rangers at the start of the episode. He used a small device to wrap the Green Ranger in an electrical rope and drag him about, and soon did the same to the others. But soon, Trip got back up and hit the mutant with a Time Strike, but the mutant responded by exposing his DNA to seriously hit the big time. The Rangers called on their Time Force Megazord, which first was formed in Jet Mode. Jet Mode created its Cyclone Defense and then fired its lasers to attack the enlarged mutant, and then switched to its Megazord form, Mode Red. It then used its saber to stop the mutant cold in his tracks before [...] him back down to size again - that is, chrono-frozen size.
Medicon
- First Appearance: "Short-Circuited" (03/17/2001)
- Voice Actor: Dan Woren
Nadira brought back this doctor-themed mutant who was white in color with a silver instrument for a head in the hopes of "operating" on Circuit - in their own devious ways, of course. After Nadira, who took on a civilian disguise to lure him in, was able to capture Circuit right out of Trip's grasp, she took him to an old boxcar in an abandoned trainyard where Medicon administered a virus to Circuit's circuits, causing the robotic owl to act crazy. Afterwards, Medicon went to attack the city, where the Rangers intercepted him. He and an army of Cyclobots gave the Rangers a real beating until the Rangers busted out their Chrono-Sabers. Wes struck him first, and Katie executed a Double Strike to bring down Medicon, but unfortunately (as Nadira hoped), he ripped his DNA patch off to become a giant medical menace. Since Circuit was infected, the Rangers were unable to call for the Time Force Megazord, and Medicon used this situation to his advantage by attacking the city and the Rangers (minus Trip who went to look for Circuit). After a battle with Nadira and two scrub-wearing Cyclobots, Trip managed to get Circuit back, fix him, and bring him to the battlefield on his Vector Cycle. And not a moment too soon - as night fell, Medicon's rampage continued, but a rejuvenated Circuit called on the Time Force Megazord for the Rangers. They used Jet Mode's Cyclone Defense and laser attacks to put Medicon on the ropes, then switched to Mode Red and used its saber slash to give the evil medic a taste of his own malpractice. He was frozen and shrunken by the saber, signifying that the doctor was out.
Fatcatfish
- First Appearance: "Jen's Revenge" (03/24/2001)
- Voice Actor: Tom Wyner
Ransik brought back this green fish mutant (who sported a blond flattop hairdo and shades) to eliminate the Rangers. Fatcatfish showed his skill by decimating several Cyclobots right in front of Frax, who at that point developed an immediate disliking for the mutant. Fatcatfish was a bounty hunter mutant, and Ransik offered him a large sum of money for the task of eliminating the Rangers, giving him half immediately and promising him the other half after the Rangers were destroyed. Nadira, intrigued by the large sum of money, then took him on a shopping spree, using all of his first half of the payment to buy herself clothes and other things, but then ditched him when his money ran out. An angry Fatcatfish, desperate to get the other half of his money, then started to attack the city and the Rangers responded to the call. Fatcatfish then taunted Jen and made remarks about the alleged death of her fiancee, Alex. In response, Jen turned psycho-killer and mercilessly attacked the mutant, even setting her V-5 Weapon to destroy, but Fatcatfish made the escape when the other Rangers tried to stop her from destroying the mutant. Now Fatcatfish was scared of Jen, and Frax picked on him for it. After he pretended to call a truce between them, Frax was able to analyze and copy his voice onto a disk that he then sent to Jen - the message made it look like Fatcatfish was willing to turn over Ransik in exchange for a truce between him and Jen, thus enabling Frax to make the mutant look like a traitor. At an old warehouse that night, Frax's plan worked, as Fatcatfish, Jen and Ransik were all lured together, with Jen under the impression that Fatcatfish sent the message, much to Ransik's anger. Fatcatfish escaped the warehouse while Jen and Ransik went at it, but the next morning, Fatcatfish was prepared to destroy Frax for double-crossing him. He was stopped, though, when a ballistic Jen returned to attack him, again giving him a beating and threatening to destroy him completely. The other Rangers arrived and Wes asked the question "What would Alex do?" in order to stop Jen from going against Time Force regulations just for the sake of her own personal revenge. However, Fatcatfish turned his attention on everyone and attacked, but he was put down by Jen's Chrono-Saber. He wasn't done yet though, as he pulled off his DNA patch and grew. The Rangers boarded the Time Force Megazord and set it to Jet Mode, using its Cyclone Defense attack on the mutant. Afterwards, they formed Mode Red, and as they readied the Saber, Wes let Jen take the helm and be the one to bring in her old nemesis. One Mode Red Saber slash later, and Jen's revenge was complete, as Fatcatfish was finally shrunken and chrono-frozen again.
Izout
- First Appearance: "The Time Shadow" (03/31/2001)
- Voice Actor: David Lodge
Frax used this shotgun-wielding purple mutant with red bug eyes as a diversion while he sought to create the Trizirium needed to make the crystals to power his robot, Tronicon. Izout successfully invaded Bio-Lab and stole the Zirium powder, and Frax "rewarded" him by letting him be the one sent to destroy the Rangers. Confronting the Rangers, he blasted at three of them with his shotgun before being hit with a Time Strike and several blasts from the V-Weapons, but that only made him angry enough to pull off his DNA patch and grow. At giant size, he used his shotgun to stun the Time Force Megazord (Mode Blue), and prior to the giant battle had planted several grenades around the Megazord to ambush it. He set them all off to severely damage the Time Force Megazord, causing the Rangers to suddenly eject and de-morph. However, the Time Jet acted on its own and shot at Izout to shrink him down for containment.
Vexicon
- First Appearance: "Future Unknown" (04/07/2001)
- Voice Actor: Richard Epcar
The first X-Vault mutant used by Frax. He quickly proved the X-Vault mutants' notorious reputation true by directly attacking civilians with small bombs. While not the strongest, he was one of the most sadistic monsters the Time Force Rangers faced. Originally Ransik was unaware that Frax had sent him, but later learned of it and praised Frax for his choice of warrior, despite Frax's plan failing. Brought in by Shadow Force Megazord (Blue).
Redeye
- First Appearance: "Uniquely Trip" (04/14/2001)
- Voice Actor: Wendee Lee
This purple-tinted gray mutant with a solitary red eye on her face (hence the name) and tentacle-like fingers was sent to stir up trouble in Silver Hills, terrorizing its citizens. The Rangers responded to the call and battled against the mutant and an army of Cyclobots. The Rangers used their Chrono-Blasters and, ultimately, their V-Weapons to bring the mutant in. Then, in the episode "Reflections of Evil," after the Rangers were pulled into Miracon's mirror world, they found themselves having to fight previously-defeated mutants again. Redeye was the first of them, and she overpowered four of the Rangers. After Wes, who was in a separate mirror, rejoined his teammates, the Rangers were able to take down Redeye with a shot from the Vortex Blaster.
Electropede
- First Appearance: "Uniquely Trip" (04/14/2001)
- Voice Actor: Steve Kramer
An electric-draining centipede mutant. Brought in by Shadow Force Megazord (Blue).
Univolt
- First Appearance: "Worlds Apart" (04/21/2001)
- Voice Actor: Bob Papenbrook
Univolt was the second X-Vault mutant used by Frax. He was more powerful than the first one, Vexicon. Univolt had very powerful fire power. He attacked the city on Frax's orders. The New organisation created by Mr Collins, the Sliver Guardians came on the scene to prove that they were a powerful lot fighting against a mutant. Cars arrived and surrounded Univolt. Univolt used his laser power to stop the Sliver Guardians and destroyed their cars. The Silver Guardians came out of the cars and surrounded Univolt to arrest the fierce, dangerous and fearsome mutant. Univolt tried to fire at the head of the Sliver Guardians but Wes came at that time and blocked the laser fire power. While Eric tried to berate the Red Ranger for coming in their way, Mr Collins came in his car. Univolt fired the laser for a second time, this time it hurt Wes a lot and it even broke Wes's visor. Eric and Mr Collins came to know of the Red Ranger's secret identity and were surprised, espically Mr Collins. While Wes was trying to face Mr Collins and Eric, the others fought Univolt and were in a losing position. Disarmed and disabled to fight Univolt, the Rangers were put to the ground. Wes came on the scene then, trying to face Univolt. Univolt fought Wes and former seemed to win in the beginning, then the Rangers formed the Vortex Blaster to take down Univolt for reconfinement.
Brickneck
- First Appearance: "The Quantum Quest" (04/28/2001)
- Voice Actor: Michael Sorich
A brick-necked mutant used by Ransik to steal the recently excavated Quantum Morpher. Brought in by Quantum Ranger.
Commandocon
- First Appearance: "Clash For Control, Part 1" (05/05/2001)
- Voice Actor: Dave Mallow
This black-and-white-camoflauged mutant was brought out of containment by Ransik, who wanted to use him for the purpose of gaining control of the Quantasaurus Rex, which was still back in time and seaparated from the Quantum Ranger. He wielded a spear which had a small joystick-like remote control on it. To go back in time, Commandocon punched a time hole in our current space that he then went through, landing in the prehistoric ages, where the Q-Rex was residing. Eric, the Quantum Ranger, had followed Commandocon back in time by flying his TF Eagle (as did Wes, who stowed away on the Eagle's wing). While Eric was searching for the clues that would lead him to the Q-Rex, Wes confronted Commandocon outside of a cave where Q-Rex was living. Wes tried to stop him before he entered the cave, but Commandocon overpowered him and then entered the cave. He found the Q-Rex all right, and he then planted a blocking device on the Rex's head, giving him total control over it. He then directed the Q-Rex to head back through the time hole alongside him, and Eric took off after them on the TF Eagle, with Wes (who nearly missed the ride again due to Eric originally wanting to leave him in the past) in tow. Now under Commandocon's commands, Q-Rex started tearing up Silver Hills, much to the shock of the other Rangers who waited in the present. Eric tried to get it to stop, but because of the blocking device, the voice recognition failed. After it was injured in battle by the Time Shadow Megazord, Q-Rex retreated to a cave to recover, and after it did, Commandocon sent it back out to Silver Hills. The Rangers battled it again in their Shadow Force Megazord (Mode Red), but Commandocon decided to make things more interesting by pulling off his DNA patch to become a giant. He continued to control the Q-Rex against the Rangers, while Eric's morpher informed him that the blocking device needed to be destroyed in order for the voice recognition to work. He distracted the Q-Rex and successfully blasted the device off its head, finally putting it under his own control. Immediately, Eric had Q-Rex turn on Commandocon and attack its former master. He then called for its Megazord mode, which took Commandocon down with its missile blasts and Thunder Fist attack. Finally, Eric was able to put the mutant back in the freezer for containment by unleashing Q-Rex Megazord's Max Blizzard attack on him.
Klawlox
- First Appearance: "Bodyguard in Blue" (05/19/2001)
- Voice Actor: Tony Oliver
This yellow frog-like bug mutant with horns and sharp claws (one of which had a powerful blaster hidden inside) accompanied Nadira to kidnap Bio-Lab's scientist, Dr. Michael Zaskin. As he left for work one morning, Zaskin was captured by Nadira, Klawlox, and a gang of Cyclobots. As Zaskin was held in captivity, Klawlox demanded that Zaskin give him all the information regarding the Quantum Ranger powers. Zaskin refused, but Nadira decided that they should capture his daughter, Holly, in order to make Zaskin talk. Later, as Holly rode with Lucas inside of his car after making a getaway from the Cyclobots, Klawlox appeared in the middle of the road and immediately jumped onto Lucas's car. Lucas swerved every which way just to get the mutant off, and finally succeeded in a field in the middle of nowhere. As Holly watched, Klawlox Delivered a beating to Lucas and demanded that he turn over Holly. Lucas, realizing he had no choice but to reveal his true identity to Holly, morphed into the Blue Time Force Ranger to take Klawlox on. Klawlox still got the better of Lucas, though, and just as he closed in for the kill, Holly came between them and offered the mutant her teddy bear, Theo, in exchange for Lucas's safety. Klawlox quickly snatched the bear, flung it into the air, and fired at it to burn it to a crisp. This action made Lucas angry enough to start beating on Klawlox, turning the tide of battle in his favor. Lucas topped it off by hitting Klawlox with a Chrono-Saber Double Strike, putting down the mutant. After freeing Zaskin (with the help of Eric), the other Rangers arrived to join Lucas, but that was when Klawlox got up again and tore off his DNA patch to grow. To even the odds, the Rangers formed the Shadow Force Megazord (Mode Red) to take him on. However, Klawlox was still too strong, as he threw down the Megazord like it was nothing. Just then, Q-Rex arrived to help the Rangers out. After getting clocked by Q-Rex Megazord's Thunder Fist attack, the Rangers were able to put Klawlox back into the freezer with a combination of Q-Rex's Max Blizzard and Shadow Force Mode Red's Blizzard Slash attacks.
Unnamed Police Mutant
- First Appearance: "The Legend of the Clock Tower" (05/19/2001)
After Katie's dream/voyage back in time about the legend of the Clock Tower, this unnamed police-like mutant was sent by Ransik (along with a group of Cyclobots) to attack the city. He was blue in color with a policeman's hat on his head, a large mouth on his stomach, and he wielded a chain-like weapon. At normal size, the Rangers defeated him with the Vortex Blaster, and after growing, he was defeated and brought in by Time Force Megazord Jet Mode's Cyclone Defense and Mode Red's Megazord Saber slash.
Turtlecon
- First Appearance: "Trust and Triumph" (06/02/2001)
- Voice Actor: Steve McGowan
A turtle mutant who can trap anyone in a dimension of his choosing. He had made clones of the Power Rangers (including one of the Time Force Megazord Mode Red). The Mode Red clone was destroyed by Mode Blue's Time Jet in its Blaster Mode. Brought in by Shadow Force Megazord (Blue).
Notacon
- First Appearance: "Trip Takes a Stand" (06/09/2001)
- Voice Actor: Barbara Goodson
Ransik releases a peaceful mutant who was only in jail for petty theft. Notacon refuses to fight the Rangers for him. Frax attaches a controller to Notacon, who manages to bust loose and escape before it can be activated. Trip befriends him and discovers that removing the controller could be fatal to Notacon. The controller on Notacon's head is finally activated, and he begins attacking the Rangers. Frax make shim bigger and Trip plans to use the Electro Booster to blast the controller off of Notacon's head but Frax prevents him. Eric blasts Frax off Trip and Trip gets the shot and Notacon is voluntarily frozen by the Shadow Force Megazord's (Mode Red) Blizzard Slash.
Conwing
- First Appearance: "Quantum Secrets" (06/16/2001)
- Voice Actor: Sean Cw Johnson
A bird mutant who used a device to make his voice match others' voice (like Eric's) and control the Q-Rex. Brought in by Quantum Ranger in Mega Battle Mode. Becomes a frequent patron of Piggy's restaurant in Power Rangers SPD.
NOTE: Eric's battle with giant-sized Conwing was U.S. footage.
Contemptra
- First Appearance: "Lovestruck Rangers" (06/23/2001)
- Voice Actor: Valerie Vernon
A mutant who can put her victims under a love spell while disguised as a human girl named Angelique. She placed her love spell on Wes, Lucas and Trip. Brought in by Shadow Force Megazord (Red).
Dash
- First Appearance: "The Last Race" (07/07/2001)
- Actor: Riley Schmidt
A green-and-gold-armored mutant that was an old friend and racing rival of Lucas in the future. He was arrested for his reckless driving, causing a fatal accident while street racing. He sought revenge against Lucas, who testified against him, resulting in his being frozen. Nadira wanted a fast driver just for the sake of more shopping sprees, and so Dash was recruited by Nadira to be her 'chauffeur'. (read: getaway driver) In a civilian guise, he slipped away from Nadira during a shopping outing, and met Lucas at a diner. It was there that he challenged Lucas to one last race. Later, history nearly repeated itself when children chased a ball into the street in front of him, but when Lucas bumped Dash's car to prevent it, he realized the error of his ways, now vowing to not be Nadira's chauffeur. Nadira brought out a device to torture him, and placed onto him some body armor that would control him, making him fight the Rangers against his will. When Nadira fired a blast at the Rangers, the explosion caused Dash's DNA to be exposed, thus making him a giant. The Rangers then confronted him with Time Force Megazord's Mode Red. A blast from its saber broke Dash's armor, causing him to go limp and fall back to Earth. He then got up and voluntarily pleaded with Lucas to bring him in, promising that everything would be different once he'd served his time and asking Lucas to do it himself as he made him see the error of his ways. Reluctant at first, Lucas used the Mode Red's saber strike to send his old buddy back to the freezer again.
Ironspike
- First Appearance: "Full Exposure" (07/14/2001)
- Voice Actor: Richard Cansino (2nd appearance)
This sword-wielding barbarian-like mutant attacked Silver Hills at the beginning of the episode and the Rangers were immediately dispatched to face him. He proved to be a strong adversary against two of the Rangers, but after they became five again, Wes was able to put him away, Chrono-Freezing him with a Time Strike. Later, in "Reflections of Evil," he reappeared as the second of the previously-defeated mutants inside of Miracon's Mirror World. He had his way with Katie and Jen, but after the guys arrived, the tide was turned back in the Rangers' favor. Wes took him out with a Time Strike from his Chrono-Saber.
NOTE: The battle against Ironspike in "Reflections of Evil" was actually recycled from the very same one used at the beginning of "Full Exposure."
Artillicon
- First Appearance: "Full Exposure" (07/14/2001)
- Voice Actor: Bob Papenbrook
An artillery-themed mutant used by Ransik. He attacked the rangers and nearly won with the help of his powerfully equipped lasers. He can also turn into a jet-like form. He also nearly destroyed a photographer named Miltch but was soon defeated by Katie. Put back into the freezer by Time Force Megazord
Cinecon
- First Appearance: "Movie Madness, Part 1" (07/21/2001)
- Voice Actor: Terrence Stone
A new movie starring action film star, Frankie Chang, was being filmed in Silver Hills, and the Rangers went to check out the filming. When one of the stuntmen was injured, Wes volunteered to take his place, not knowing what awaited him. After Wes was nearly destroyed by the film's stars and a deliberately triggered explosion, he and the others confronted the director. The director revealed the name of the film to be "The End of the Rangers," and then revealed himself to be the movie-themed mutant known as Cinecon. Cinecon used his clapboard to send each of the Rangers into alternate dimensions of movies based on their favorite genre of film. Later, Eric was in the area as Circuit tried to convince him about the impending danger. Eric wasn't convinced until Cinecon confronted him. After a battle with Cyclobots, Eric was transported into a movie dimension of his own. Cinecon oversaw the development of every single movie, being sure that the movies would lead to the Rangers' demise. In Part 2 of "Movie Madness", Trip was able to stealthily snatch Cinecon's clapboard and throw it to Wes, who then destroyed it, thus transporting everyone out of the movie dimensions. However, Cinecon filmed more scenes of the Rangers, who now had to deal with Ransik himself. In the desert chase scene, the Rangers found themselves faced with Ransik's battle wagon, and Cinecon wrote in their Vector Cycles. After the Rangers won the chase battle, Cinecon started the end of the movie by ripping off his DNA patch and making himself grow. The giant director mutant then grabbed the Rangers, and the next thing they knew, they found themselves in the console of the Shadow Force Megazord (Mode Blue). As the Rangers realized that they were still stuck in his movie dimension, Cinecon then wrote in Q-Rex and even the Transwarp Megazord, that way he could destroy everyone at once. The Rangers' attacks were ineffective against Cinecon at first, but after Cinecon was blasted by the Shadow Force Megazord's Saber, it was revealed that the Rangers were no longer in the movie dimension, since the last page of his script was gone - Trip had used that page to get Frankie Chang's autograph, thus completely saving the Rangers' hides. As Cinecon moaned about not having an ending to his film, Wes aimed to create an ending on the spot - that is, the end of Cinecon. After getting knocked silly by a spinning punch from the Transwarp Megazord, and also blasted by Q-Rex's shoulder lasers, Cinecon's devious directing days were put to an end when he was blasted back into Chrono-Frozen mode by Shadow Force Mode Blue's Time Target attack.
Steelix
- First Appearance: "Time Force Traitor" (08/04/2001)
- Voice Actor: J.W. Myers
This silver humanoid mutant was actually an ex-Time Force member who was also Jen's first partner in Time Force. He betrayed Time Force by selling its secrets to Ransik himself in exchange for money, and Jen found out and reported this to Captain Logan. Steelix was caught by Time Force and chrono-frozen, but not before he swore revenge on Jen. However, in the present, as Jen was running an errand during the nighttime, she was attacked by the newly-unfrozen Steelix, who also swiped her chrono-morpher in the attack. She informed Captain Logan of the unfreezing and Logan acknowledged that Steelix would be after Jen. Jen, with the other Rangers hiding throughout the city, went to look for Steelix the next morning. She then found a recording of his voice inside a jack-in-the-box (or rather, Steelix-in-the-box, as it was his head that was the jack) that said to meet him alone in a warehouse in two hours if she wanted her morpher back. Despite the team's objection to go alone, Jen sneaked out to meet Steelix at the warehouse. The two fought it out in the warehouse, with the blaster-wielding Steelix trying to prevent Jen from accessing her morpher. Eventually Jen was able to grab her chrono-morpher and become the Pink Ranger (though the activating of the morpher alerted the other Rangers as to where she was). However, Steelix sprayed at Jen with some sort of mist before the Rangers arrived, and while Lucas, Katie, and Trip went after Steelix, Wes found himself having to defend himself against Jen, who became evil as a result of Steelix's spray. After Wes eventually broke Jen out of the evil spell, the two joined their friends in the fight against the Time Force traitor. Eric, the Quantum Ranger, joined in soon afterwards, prompting Steelix to summon the Cyclobots. While the other Rangers were busy with them, Steelix focused on Jen. Jen was able to hit him with a blast from her V-5 Weapon and strikes from her Chrono-Saber, and she prepared to bring him in, but the defiant Steelix pulled off his DNA patch to grow. The Rangers then called for the formations of the Q-Rex Megazord and Shadow Force Megazord (Mode Blue) to confront him. He was able to blast away every one of the Q-Rex Missiles, but found himself in trouble when his blaster was shot off by Shadow Force. Eric started to send the Q-Rex to finish him off but Wes stopped him saying they'd stop this one themselves. Shadow Force Mode Blue then leapt into the air and, as Steelix still vowed to get his revenge, blasted him with the Time Target attack, chrono-freezing the traitor once again.
NOTE: Steelix is the only PR monster to share name with the Pokémon of the same name, though their appearance is totally different.
Venomark
- First Appearance: "Frax's Fury" (08/11/2001)
- Voice Actor: Kim Strauss
This was another mutant contained in the X-Vault and released by Frax. Hence the name, Venomark would attack people in the city by biting their necks, infecting them with dangerous venom that would cause the victims to mutate. Venomark could get around anywhere, undetected, by using super-speed to travel from one place to another. When Ransik found out that Venomark was the one attacking the city, he was completely stunned. He revealed to Nadira that it was Venomark who was also responsible for the bite that caused Ransik's near-fatal mutation long ago, and Ransik would have perished had it not been for the serum of Dr. Louis Fericks. Now, Ransik wanted revenge against the dastardly mutant for the immense pain that he still suffered due to the venom. Venomark then attacked a group of men who were playing football, infecting one of them before the Rangers came to face off against Venomark, who in battle wielded a sword. Wes tried using his V-1 cannon to stop the mutant's speed, but failed. Venomark then proceeded to infect four of the Rangers with his bite, but before he could literally sink his teeth into Wes, Ransik arrived and stopped him, announcing his desire for revenge against the mutant. Ransik pulled out a bonesword from his back, and the two went at it (while a confused Wes watched). Ransik had the upper hand on Venomark and was about to destroy him, but then the pain from the venom kicked in again, causing more agony for Ransik and allowing Venomark to make his escape. Wes had also made his escape with the infected Rangers and other victims during Ransik's bout of pain, but not before he witnessed Ransik drinking the serum, giving him the very idea he needed to save the city of infected victims. Meanwhile, Frax told a greatly-worried Venomark to focus on the Rangers, but Venomark was afraid of being destroyed by Ransik. Frax assured him that he would take care of Ransik himself.
Later, after Bio-Lab reproduced the serum, the Silver Guardians started distributing it among the ailing victims. After Eric helped out a helpless elderly woman by giving her some serum, Venomark rushed in and attacked Eric. Before he could bite him, though, the Rangers (who were now cured, thanks to Wes and the serum) blasted him and prepared to take him in. Eric wanted to handle the mutant on his own, and thus morphed into the Quantum Ranger. Venomark then used a blaster to fire at the Rangers, and then laid his eyes on a case of serum, determined to destroy it. Just as he fired at it, Lucas jumped to grab the case and forced himself to take the blast instead. Eric then called for his Mega Battle Mode, and upon doing so, Venomark tried to beat a speedy retreat. Eric caught up with him and swiped at him with his saber to bring the mutant down hard onto the pavement. He then fired the Mega Battle's lasers at Venomark, knocking him down. However, Venomark sat up and ripped off his DNA patch to become a giant. The Rangers called for their Zords, in the forms of Shadow Force Megazord's Mode Red and Q-Rex's Megazord Mode, to take him on as a fierce thunderstorm erupted. This battle was over quick, though, as Shadow Force hit the Blizzard Slash on Venomark to weaken him. Q-Rex then put him away with its Max Blizzard attack, shrinking the deadly mutant down to chrono-frozen size. Frax's promise to Venomark was then carried out when Frax destroyed all of Ransik's serum and then ran away, but this happened after Venomark was brought in by Time Force.
Severax
- First Appearance: "Dawn of Destiny" (08/18/2001)
- Voice Actor: Paul Schrier
This lavender-colored mutant with large green bug-eyes accompanied Ransik and the Cyclobots in the hunt for Frax, who had just betrayed Ransik in the previous episode. Severax had a sharp blade for one arm and a powerful blaster for another. Later on in the episode, after Nadira's realization that Bio-Lab had some serum (and the fact that Frax had destroyed all of Ransik's serum), Severax accompanied Ransik and the Cyclobots in their invasion of Bio-Lab in search of the serum. After Ransik blasted Mr. Collins and stole the serum, he instructed Severax to destroy Bio-Lab, which Severax gladfully agreed to do. Soon, the Time Force Rangers came to confront him and the Cyclobots. While the other Rangers were dealing with the Cyclobots, Katie took on Severax by herself. Severax was too much for Katie to handle, but then Lucas came to her aid, and the two double-teamed Severax, bringing him down. Severax then tore off his DNA patch to become a giant. Wes tried firing his Electro-Booster at the mutant, but to no avail. The Time Flyers were sent in to help the Rangers, and they formed both the Time Force Megazord (Mode Red) and the Time Shadow Megazord. In the battle, the Megazord flung its Saber right at Severax, striking him as the Saber made it into the hands of the Time Shadow. The Time Shadow then used two sabers to land several double-strikes on Severax before Katie called for the formation of the Shadow Force Megazord, Mode Red. After its formation, Severax fired his blaster at it, but the attack had no effect on it. Shadow Force Mode Red fired its laser nets to ensnare Severax, and then proceeded to strike him with a well-timed Blizzard Slash, bringing the mutant down and back to the freezer for containment.
Dragontron
- First Appearance: "Dawn of Destiny" (08/18/2001)
A powerful and giant dragon robot built by Frax after he broke away from Ransik. Dragontron had only one weak spot, which was his energy core, and only if someone fired on that weak spot could anyone actually destroy him. Alex said that Dragontron was even more powerful than the most powerful Megazord and only by hitting its weak spot could it be destroyed. Dragontron attacked the city when Alex arrived in Sliver Hills and re-assumed the position of Red Ranger (and team leader). The Rangers formed the Shadow Force Megazord (presumably because besides the Q-Rex it was the most powerful) and nearly defeated Dragontron until Frx warned him. It seemed that Dragontron was a super robot and shot laser beams at the rangers Megazord which nearly destroyed the rangers. Eric was informed that Dragontron was attacking the city. So Eric came on the scene and asked Q-Rex to keep biting Dragontron. The Shadow Force Megazord tried to fire at Dragontron's weak spot. Dragontron fired at Q-Rex and turned back at the rangers to destroy them. Eric switched Q-Rex to Megazord mode. Dragontron defeated both the Megazords. Frax needed to see how much damage Dragontron had faced. So he asked Dragontron to go back to Frax's lair. In Frax's lair, Frax created a device to drain the power from the Rangers. The next day the Rangers faced Dragontron again. They first had to defeat Frax in order to get to Dragontron. They were fired at by Frax's device, and then Frax tried to drain the Rangers of their powers. Circuit came and tried to help the Rangers but Frax fried Circuit, causing the bird to retreat. Wes then came to pay a visit to the Clock Tower and understood that he could control his own destiny. Then he went to help his friends and grappled with Frax, soon destroying the device Frax had created. Alex, after some pleading from his teammates, reluctantly gave the morpher back to Wes. The Rangers boarded the Time Force Megazord (Mode Red) and confronted Dragontron once again. Soon, Eric joined the battle and brought Q-Rex in. Wes then used the Time Force Megazord, which used Q-Rex as its horse, and slashed Dragontron then jumped over it and while the Q-Rex distracted it by firing upon it the Time Force Megazord stabbed its weak spot (the energy core) with the Time Force Megazord Saber, finally destroying the menacing robot.
Mr. Mechanau
- First Appearance: "Undercover Rangers" (09/15/2001)
- Voice Actor: Mike Reynolds
This mutant was allied with Frax, though it wasn't explained how Frax was able to free him without Ransik knowing it. Mechanau was first seen as a normal human being (played by C.J. Byrnes) who was promoting a new protein drink that could make anyone super-strong. He also ran a gym for these newly-strong customers. Jen and Wes went undercover to investigate by pretending to sign up to be customers at the gym. Jen was able to find out that this drink was turning people into Cyclobots that would be used for Frax's army. Unfortunately, she was caught by Mechanau and brought before Frax, who decided that she should become a Cyclobot as well. After Wes freed Jen, and Eric (who also suspected something about the business) came to help them out, Mr. Mechanau confronted the Rangers, revealing to them his true form: a tall, black, caped mutant wielding a long sword. The Rangers morphed and went into battle, but Mechanau demonstrated his power of telekinesis, using it to make the three Rangers fly about uncontrollably and make them collide with each other. He was stopped, though, when the remaining three Rangers came to help their friends. In battle, Mechanau was quite strong and too much for any Ranger to handle. However, Alex sent in, from the future, the new Strata-Cycle to help Wes (and to protect Jen, as per Alex's wishes). Wes boarded the new vehicle and went back into battle just when it looked like Mechanau was about to destroy Jen. He used the cycle's firepower to bring down Mechanau, but the mutant wasn't finished yet, tearing off his DNA patch to make himself a giant. The Time Flyers and Time Shadow were sent in, and the Rangers used them to make the Shadow Force Megazord's Mode Blue; Eric called for his Q-Rex to aid the Rangers in battle. However, Mechanau used his telekinetic attack again, this time throwing Q-Rex around the city, and soon throwing Q-Rex right into Shadow Force! Mechanau closed in for the kill but Shadow Force was able to fire its saber at the menacing mutant, knocking him down. This gave the Rangers the opportunity to let Shadow Force go airborne and fire the Time Target at Mechanau. One Time Target blast was all they needed to put Mechanau back to the freezer, and upon doing so, all the humans were freed from their Cyclobot state.
Black Knight
- First Appearance: "Beware the Knight" (9/22/2001)
- Actor: Kelly J. Bailey
- Voice Actor: Dave Mallow (uncredited)
The Black Knight is not a mutant by any means, but he was a villain from an unknown medieval time who destroyed the good White Knight and stole a box with mysterious powers, though he couldn't open it because he wasn't pure of heart. He was a very tough adversary for the Rangers. As mentioned, only the pure of heart could open the box, and that someone was Wes who received the power of the Battle Fire which gave him the Battle Warrior armor. He used this very power to destroy the Black Knight.
Miracon
- First Appearance: "Reflections of Evil" (10/06/2001)
- Voice Actor: Phil Proctor
This mutant had the ability to move through any mirror, and had his own Mirror World inside of them. He was a humanoid mutant who white and aqua in color, with goggles for eyes and a cranium-like head, and wielded a scepter. He was first seen inside of a mirror in a dressing room where Nadira was admiring herself. There, Nadira discussed what Miracon's plan of attack was to be. Miracon blinded a driver in Silver Hills by using a reflection of the sun from a mirror. The Rangers caught up to Miracon, who lured them into an empty room with a circle of mirrors, where he disappeared into. The Rangers investigated the circle, only to fall for a trap and get pulled in by Miracon! In order to escape the Mirror World, the Rangers needed to destroy every mutant inside and capture Miracon. Wes ended up in a different mirror from the others, but eventually rejoined with them to defeat the resurrected Redeye mutant, causing that very mirror to crack. Later, after defeating Ironspike and the previously-unseen Angelcon in separate mirrors (which also cracked upon their defeats), Wes found himself in the final mirror, where, sure enough, Miracon awaited him. Miracon overpowered Wes, but then Eric showed up in the empty room of mirrors; Eric then jumped into the final mirror and helped Wes battle Miracon. The other Rangers showed up to help them out but Miracon took them out of the battle. Soon, though, Wes and Eric put a double-team on Miracon, cracking the mirror. However, Miracon took off his DNA patch and grew. The Rangers boarded their Time Force Megazord (Mode Blue) and also summoned the Time Shadow Megazord. In battle, Miracon zapped the Time Shadow and reversed its polarity, causing the Time Shadow to turn against the Rangers. To get them out of this jam, Eric called for his Q-Rex, which he quickly turned into its Megazord mode. Following a Thunder Fist attack on the Time Shadow, the Time Shadow turned good again. With Miracon's defeat growing ever closer, the final mirror started to crack even more. To finish the job, the Time Force Megazord fired at Miracon with the Time Jet, then the Time Shadow performed its criss-cross saber slashes on the mutant to weaken him even more, and Q-Rex zapped Miracon with its Max Blizzard attack, shrinking him down for containment. As that happened, all the mirrors that led to the Mirror World shattered and exploded, and the Rangers were finally free. The broken mirrors then disappeared, and soon afterwards, the tiny, frozen body of Miracon appeared on the floor. It was quickly contained by Lucas.
Angelcon
- First Appearance: "Reflections of Evil" (10/06/2001)
- Voice Actor: Kirk Thornton
A white-colored angel-themed mutant who was previously defeated by the Time Force Rangers (off-screen?). His image first appeared as a cardboard cutout used for target practice. He then appeared for real as one of Miracon's mutants in the Mirror World. While the other Rangers were handling Cyclobots, Katie confronted him. She was able to finish him off with a strike from her Chrono-Saber, thus shattering this very mirror.
Chameliacon
- First Appearance"Nadira's Dream Date" (07/14/2001)
- Voice Actor: Kerrigan Mahan
Nadira was feeling low from the lack of romance in her life, so Ransik decided to send her into Silver Hills alongside this green chameleon mutant for a rampage. Chameliacon could whip out his long tongue and wrap it around anyone, and he could also summon an energy whip on command and fire green lasers from his eyes. He and Nadira caused chaos in the city until the Rangers showed up. He proved strong, but when the tide was turned, Chameliacon retreated. Later, he attacked again, but just as he was about to destroy Lucas, Ransik stopped him, protecting Lucas because he thought that Lucas loved Nadira, who obviously loved him back. Confused, Chameliacon left the scene of the battle yet again. Even later, after Lucas intentionally broke Nadira's heart just to get her off his back, Ransik ordered Chameliacon to attack again, this time making sure that Lucas does get destroyed. In the heat of the battle, Chameliacon pummeled the Rangers using his energy whip attack, but Lucas went on the attack and had his way with the mutant. Then Chameliacon tried to use his tongue again, but Lucas caught it and pulled off a fancy maneuver by jumping onto an overpass and wrapping the tongue around it and tying it around his Chrono-Saber, leaving Chameliacon dangling helplessly in the air by his mouth. This left the mutant open for a Time Strike by Wes. Angered, Chameliacon took off his DNA patch and grew. On a whim, the Rangers boarded the Shadow Force Megazord's Mode Blue, and soon Eric joined in with his Q-Rex in Megazord Mode. Chameliacon knocked Shadow Force and Q-Rex around with his whip, and then used his tongue to toss Shadow Force about wildly. On Eric's command, Q-Rex fired its missiles at the mutant, snapping the tongue and breaking the Rangers free. Then, with Lucas doing the honors this time, Shadow Force Mode Blue took to the skies and finished off Chameliacon with the Time Target attack, shrinking him down for containment once more.
Serpicon
- First Appearance: "Circuit Unsure" (10/20/2001)
- Voice Actor: Mark Richardson
This was the last mutant that was seen being released by Ransik. This armored serpent mutant, who was purple in color and wielded a pistol, was sent to set the Silver Hills Space Center to self-destruct. After Serpicon started the countdown at 60 minutes, Trip had gotten into the building (alongside an unconfident Circuit) to try to crack the computer code to override the self-destruct, while the other Rangers were being stalled by Cyclobots. With about 30 minutes left until self-destruction, Serpicon leaned on the computer keyboard in boredom and inadvertently took the countdown to 3 minutes. Eric, the Quantum Ranger, made it into the Space Center with 2 minutes left and grappled with Serpicon, taking the fight outside the building. After hitting a stand-still, the two agreed to settle the fight in a duel. With the help of his own craftiness in using his Quantum Defender, Eric won, but soon, Serpicon had grown into a giant problem indeed. Eric called on his Q-Rex to try and handle the mutant. After Trip and a newly-confident Circuit successfully stopped the building from self-destructing (and the other Rangers released everyone trapped in the building), the Rangers arrived on the scene. After getting blasted by the Q-Rex Megazord's missiles, Serpicon focused his attention on the Rangers. He fired a shot from his blaster directly at Trip, but Circuit intentionally flew in the way of the blast and was badly damaged, leaving him unable to call the Time Fliers. Wes called on the Time Jet, which all the Rangers then boarded. They scored a direct shot from the Time Jet right at Serpicon knocking his blaster from his hand, and Eric sealed the deal by freezing/shrinking him with Q-Rex's Max Blizzard attack.
One remaining mutant was seen after Serpicon's defeat, but was presumably captured off-screen.
Robots
Here are the robots used by Ransik and Frax:
Tronicon
- First Appearance: "The Time Shadow" (03/31/2001)
- Voice Actor: Kim Strauss
The first of the robots built by Frax, who wanted to prove that robots were superior to humans and mutants alike. Tronicon is golden in color with a large visor, and is armed with lasers, missiles, and gun turrets around its body. It was powered up by the Trizirium crystals that he created from the powder that Izout stole. After Izout's defeat, Frax sent it in to destroy Silver Hills - however, this robot somehow had mutant DNA (despite being a robot), because Frax pulled off its DNA patch to make it a giant. And because Izout had heavily damaged the Time Force Megazord, Time Force couldn't send it in to help the Rangers. The Rangers tried to fight Tronicon without it, but to no avail. Bio-Lab then sent in their Raimei Destroyer to try to destroy the robot, but Tronicon's firepower was too great for it and it destroyed the Raimei with almost no trouble. Everything seemed hopeless for the Rangers until the Mystery Man from the year 3000 sent in, for the very first time, the Time Shadow Megazord. The Time Shadow was able to withstand any firepower that Tronicon threw at it, and in the end managed to destroy the fierce robot with two criss-crossed slashes from the double-edged blade it created from its two single blades.
NOTE: Despite the fact that Tronicon does not talk or even make a sound, Strauss was still credited for doing the "voice" of Tronicon. Frax should not have been able to make Tronicon grow by the usual way of exposing mutated DNA because robots don't have DNA and aren't mutants.
Maxax
- First Appearance: "A Calm Before the Storm" (10/27/2001)
A axe-equipped robot built by Frax. Destroyed by Q-Rex.
Doomtron
- First Appearance: "The End Of Time, Part I"
This was a fearsome lion robot built by Frax to destroy Ransik and the rangers. First Frax needed to destroy the world and open the Time Vortexes that could suck the Time Force in it. Meanwhile, Gluto had discovered Frax's lair for Ransik, and a Cyclobot informed Ransik of Frax's whereabouts. Soon, Ransik took Frax in chains and was to reprogram him to obey Ransik and use Doomtron against Ransik's rivals: The Time Force. Doomtron then attacked Sliver Hills and began its quest to destroy Earth. Eric came on the scene and used Q-Rex to fight against Doomtron. Q-Rex and Doomtron engaged in a battle, in which the latter was winning. Circuit informed that both the robots were made from Trizirium Crystals. Since the robots were both made from Trizirum Crystal, Circuit warned that the Vortexes may increase to an extant of a muliti-dimensional vortex. Eric didn't stop fighting, though, and Doomtron escaped. On its second attack, Doomtron knocked out Q-Rex and planned to destroy the city too. Just then the Time Jet appeared and using its Cyclone Defense and Megazord power, knocked out Doomtrom. On its third attack, Wes used the Quantum Defender to convert the blue Trizirium Crystal into a yellow one, giving the Q-Rex the power it needed to destroy Doomtron. Frax was destroyed along with Doomtron.
