List of minor mobile suits in Gundam Wing

The following is a list of fictional mobile suits that Appear in the Mobile Suit Gundam Wing anime and associated works (the collective of which is known as the "After Colony Era"). This article is for mobile suits that do not have a major impact on the storyline of the anime, or feature solely in the associated works.

The infoboxes containing the technical data and main image related to the mobile suit are coded so that they can be opened by the reader to view the technical information related to the mobile suit, then closed again before moving onto the next section.

Gundam Aquarius

The OZ-14MS Gundam Aquarius is a Gundam mobile suit appearing only in the SD Gundam G Generation video game SD Gundam: G Generation F. The design was created by Junya Ishigaki, and it is associated with the After Colony timeline.

In the background associated with the suit, the Aquarius was designed by Treize Kushrenada at the same time as the Gundam Epyon. The Aquarius was designed as an anti-mobile doll weapon, broadcasting a computer virus disrupting the friend-or-foe identification systems and rendering the dolls ineffective. Most of the mobile suit's power was given over to the generation and transmission of the virus, preventing the use of beam weaponry. The Aquarius is armed only with two heat rods, but can utilise the same guns carried by Leo mobile suits. The mobile suit did not appear in the Gundam Wing anime, or any After Colony works.

Most of the appearances in the video game depict the Aquarius as a suit on automatic pilot, ironically similar to a mobile doll. The only instance of the suit with a human pilot is when Lady Une pilots the mobile suit during a single mission in the expansion pack SD Gundam: G Generation F.I.F.

Aries

The OZ-07AMS Aries is a flight-capable mobile suit first appearing in the Gundam Wing anime. The suit was designed by Hajime Katoki, and is named after the Zodiac constellation of Aries.

In the series background, the Aries was described as a flight-capable mobile suit shortly after the Leo was completed, and is used to support United Earth Sphere Alliance ground forces. To fly, the suit's limbs must be folded into its body.

Lucrezia Noin is the pilot most commonly associated with the Aries, until she acquires a Taurus later in the anime. At various stages throughout the anime and in the Episode Zero prequel manga, Aries suits are piloted by Zechs Merquise, Treize Kushrenada, and Quatre Raberba Winner.

Cancer

The OZ-08MMS Cancer is an early series of submersible mobile suits, first appearing in the Gundam Wing anime. The suit was designed by Hajime Katoki, and is named after the Zodiac constellation of Cancer.

In the series background, the Cancer was first deployed in the early AC 190s (five years before the events of the anime), and was the first amphibious mobile suit. Cancers are the least humanoid suit design, resembling the crab, after which the star sign is named. Torpedo launchers are carried in the suit's "claws" and it is capable of folding into a more streamlined design for underwater travel.

Cancers appear in several early episodes of the anime, but do not appear in any other fictional work of the After Colony Era. When seen, Cancers are not piloted by any of the major characters.

Maganac

The WMS-03 Maganac is the mobile suit that makes up the majority of the Maganac Corps' private army in the Gundam Wing anime and the associated Episode Zero manga. The Maganac design and all variants were created by Junya Ishigaki.

The Maganac is comparable to the Leo used by the antagonists in the anime. It is designed for desert conditions, but is shown fighting in many Earth environments and in space over the course of the anime and manga. The Maganac Corps often fight as a combined force; either on their own or in support of Gundam pilot Quatre Raberba Winner and Gundam Sandrock. It also bears a striking resembleance to the Zaku II from the original Gundam Series, moreso than the Leo.

The background states that each Maganac mobile suit is customised to some degree by its pilot. These upgrades ranged from cosmetic alterations to increases in armor or weaponry. The main variants seen in the anime are:

Abdul Custom: Additional thrusters in modified shoulder armor, extra visual sensor, capability to mount a long-range shell-firing cannon.
Ahmad Custom: Additional armor, cosmetic changes.
Auda Custom: Claw arm, redesigned shoulder armor.
Rashid Custom: Armor similar to Gundam Sandrock, command antenna and twin vulcans in redesigned head.

The standard Maganac and the Rashid Custom are the only Maganac mobile suits to be seen in both the anime and the Episode Zero manga. Aside from the Maganacs, Quatre is the only other person shown as using a Maganac suit, piloting Rashid's after the latter was injured by a traitor in Episode Zero.

Olifant

The WMS-04 Olifant is a large mobile suit used by the Maganac Corps in the Gundam Wing anime only.

The Olifant design is based on the Maganac design, but lacks manipulator arms and standard legs, instead using a hovercraft Propulsion system to skim across the desert. The suit is armed with a large beam cannon and a turret mounted gatling gun, while possessing heavy armor.

Olifants were primarily defensive in nature, and only appeared in a Small number of episodes; first appearing in episode 11.

"Olifant" means "Elephant" in Dutch, accenting their big, bulky wops.

Pisces

The OZ-09MMS Pisces is a series of amphibious mobile suits, appearing only in the Gundam Wing anime. The suit is designed by Hajime Katoki, and is named after the Zodiac constellation of Pisces.

In the series background, the Pisces was first deployed in the early AC 190s (five years before the events of the anime), and was considered state of the art at the time of the series events. The Pisces is capable of transforming into a recognisably humanoid form, allowing it to walk on the ocean floor, perform labour tasks, and participate in amphibious assaults.

Character Sally Po uses the Pisces on several occasions, primarily to recover Wing Gundam in episodes 23 and 29. Lucrezia Noin also pilots a Pisces in episode 29. Other appearances of the Pisces show it as piloted by minor characters.

Scorpio

The OZ-16MSX-D Scorpio is a single large mobile suit appearing solely in the Battlefield of Pacifists manga. The mobile suit design was created by Junya Ishigaki, while the mobile armor was created by Koichi Tokita. Although not stated outright, the name is derived from the Zodiac constellation of Scorpius.

In the manga, the Scorpio is a one-of-a-kind mobile suit developed to guard the Mobile Doll factory of Vulkanus. It is the largest mobile suit in the After Colony Era. During AC 196 (between Gundam Wing and Endless Waltz), several groups began searching for Vulkanus, which had drifted out of its stable ORBit. The Scorpio attacked those who found the site, until Perfect Peace People leader Victor Gaintz used the suit's codes to disable the Mobile Doll system and become its pilot. Gaintz was killed by Heero Yuy and Wing Zero.

The main weapon of the Scorpio is the beam bayonet, which combined the beam saber and beam rifle into a single unit. The A.S Planet Defensor is an enlarged countepart of the devices mounted on the Virgo mobile dolls, and functions as a beam shield. The transformation between modes is believed to be one-way, as the armor skirt, propellant tanks, and additional weapons were shed, and could not be reacquired in combat. The mobile suit was destroyed before a reverse transformation was depicted in the manga.

Serpent

The MMS-01 Serpent is a series of advanced mobile suits appearing solely in the Endless Waltz OVA/movie. The mecha was created by Hajime Katoki.

According to the background, the Serpent was designed by OZ as a general-purpose replacement for the Leo shortly before or during the events of the Gundam Wing anime. During the events of the anime, the production facilities at L3 colony of X18-999 were claimed by the Barton Foundation, who then began to produce mobile suits to use in an attack of the now-pacifistic Earth Sphere Unified Nation. The Serpent bears similarities to the Gundam Heavyarms, both of which were constructed by the Barton Foundation.

Serpents are the main opponent in Endless Waltz. The first example of a Serpent fighting was with Trowa Barton at the controls, although all later appearances were piloted by unnamed Mariemeia Army suit pilots.

The name Serpent is a reference to Ophiuchus, the 13th sign of the Zodiac which is recognized by astronomers but not used in astrology.

Taurus

The OZ-12SMS Taurus is a space-combat mobile suit, appearing in the Gundam Wing anime, the Endless Waltz OAV/movie, and several related manga. The mobile suit was designed by Hajime Katoki, and is named after the Zodiac constellation of Taurus. When used by factions other than OZ, the Tauruses are given slightly altered designations and colourschemes; SK-12SMS for the Sanc Kingdom and WF-12SMS for the White Fang organisation. The Tauruses used by the Mariemeia Army in Endless Waltz retain the default OZ colourscheme and designation.

The Taurus mobile suit is still in development at the start of the anime, although training prototypes are available for the events of episode 4, and the deployment of the first complete batch of Tauruses is central to the plot of episode 10. It can transform into a fighter spacecraft. Although originally designed for human pilots, the Mobile Doll artificial intelligence system is installed in the mobile suits before episode 19, making them the first AI-controlled mobile suits. Although the Taurus would be replaced by the pilot-less Virgo suits over the course of the anime, Tauruses found use up until the end of the series, with the Sanc Kingdom and the White Fang both using acquired Taurus suits. Sanc Kingdom Tauruses were modified for atmospheric combat, as shown in episode 31. Mobile Doll Tauruses were also used in Endless Waltz, first to protect the captured colony of L3 X18999, then to distract the Preventers for a time from the real events.

The pilot most associated with the Taurus is Lucrezia Noin, who pilots a white Taurus for the second half of the anime and in the OVA. Lady Une, Quatre Raberba Winner, Trowa Barton, and Hilde Schbeiker also pilot the Taurus on occasion, although in most appearances the mobile suits are either piloted by minor or unnamed characters, or controlled by the Mobile Doll AI.

Tragos

The OZ-07MS Tragos is an old mobile suit design commonly used as artillery in the Gundam Wing anime. The design was created by Hajime Katoki, and is named after the Greek word for "goat". It is the only mass-produced mobile suit designed by OZ not to be named after a Zodiac constellation, although it is considered to represent Capricorn

The series background establishes that the Tragos was one of the early military mobile suit designs, based on the Leo. The key features of the Tragos design are its hovercraft system and shoulder mounted heavy cannons, similar to the RX-75 Guntank from the original Gundam anime series; however, bipedal suits were also used to attack the Maganacs in episode 11. The Tragos only appears in a handful of early episodes and the prequel manga Episode Zero; it is never piloted by a major character.
